Maybe I'm born in a Chinese family. so I'm actually kinda phobia of eating rice... do western hate rice? i think they wont. that's the point! when i was kid that time, my grandma all keep forcing me eat rice and even finish it all. i think this is also a main reason why i hate. but now, when no one is calling me or suggest me to eat rice. im starting to go eat it by my own... does this mean because of my past then i hate rice? or rice really not much people like?

Hi James,
You know that there are basically two main food items in the world- wheat and rice. Millions of people eat rice everyday, while millions of other people are fan of wheat.
Yeah, I get to see most kids now don't like to eat the same food everyday. That's why parents need to play tricks around to prepare food for children. Rice can be prepared in plain white rice, fried rice, perhaps sushi is a way to eat rice too.
But I grew up eating rice everyday too. I never get bored of eating rice. My mom is lucky to have a easy to go eater's daughter. But once in a while I would like to eat others food like spaghetti, noodles and western food.

Did you know james that potatoes were ORIGINALLY eaten by Mexicans? They eat the wild variety of potatoes before western countries start adopting eating potatoes and making it their staple diet. Same with tea which is associated with the English. Tea was consumed by the Indians and Chinese long before the English made tea their daily drink? Tea is often called "char" in England. "Char" is tea in Indian language. This story was told by my English friends.

Yeah, but frankly i think most chinese eat rice i think is all because of the culture? because of the last-last time people who start with. then only why lot of them eating rice? like in mexican food, there all start with bread to serve with other dish. and even western are most likely to have rice. and most uncommon sense is...last time asian are dying to have rice. lot begger begging for rice... but actually, why not they go and find for vege? or meat? just...this is really not making sense... but still... rice have made a legend for chinese too...once we heard bout rice, we all sure known this is a chinese food! so...rice are actually play a important role for chinese. =)

I love rice but I think alot of spanish people love rice too. Alot of spanish people eat spanish rice everyday just like the Chinese love their rice too. I'm sure you don't like rice because you were forced as a child to eat it. It just like when I was a child I was forced to eat liver and hotdogs. Today I don't eat either one because I think they are both disgusting. When you force a child to eat something they don't like that stays with you into adulthood.

I don't like to eat rice either. In any one week, my meals alternates with chicken and chips, fish and chips, nuggets, hotdogs, lamb chops or bacon and eggs in addition to just plain old rice. Eating only rice is downright boring. i must have varieties, not just chinese food or else I will go crazy! Most of the time I do western foods because I love them.

I love to eat rice!!! Especially without mixing with others food...
That is meant plain rice eating...the taste of rice is sweet there can make me have more appetite to eat...
My family tradisional style is eat rice mix with ice-cream...that's the most perfect one...!!! Do you agree??? Or eat it with malaysian famous fruit that is DURIAN...I like to mix with durian and put some chocolate favour of ice-cream on it... Maybe you can try???
