Frankly, that sounds like he doesn't think very highly of you. I believe my answer would be, "Actually, I was wondering what I've done to deserve you myself. I must have been a real jerk in another life." You really need to rethink your relationship. It sounds like you probably deserve better than him.

If I were you, I would reverse that question and ask him what make him thinks he deserves to be with you. This question does not reflect a person that is madly in love. It sounds like he is auditioning you and if you say or do the right things he may keep you. From my perspective, he does not deserve you. Not any longer.

Wow, that was pretty arrogent of him. With a statement like that, you should be asking YOURSELF if maybe YOU deserve better.

I hate to rain on your relationship parade but a question like that seems to imply to me that he thinks he is better than you. That type of relationship can be a dangerous one to be in. You should be with someone who thinks of you as an equal. You need to be really cautious especially if this is a fairly new relationship and you do not know the true him very well. You should be very watchful if he starts becoming controlling or worse.

Dump him. If he asks you something like that, there's something wrong with him and you don't want to find out the rest. I wouldn't stay with someone like that!
