globalization and patriotism

As we all know,today is the era of globalization. Any body living on the earth may influence another person living in faraway contient ,even crooking his finger on the keyboard. At the most of the time ,the earth means our commen home equivalent of our respective country. We are all family! But it's weird that at the same time we have always emphersizing patriotism. Isn't it strange or contrary?
