Crime in the society

form the begining of the human society criminals like robbers,thives, and murdurer are give punisments and even hanged to death but still crime is there, it has not ended, when criminal dies another takes birth .... then what is the use of the punishment given to them.

This is a very good question and I wish it will bloom to a good discussion. What I feel is, even though people know that they'd be punished they do all the crimes cos they are selfish and greedy. Once they understand how easy it is to earn black money, they cant resist the urge. People need never ending money, luxuries and power. until we realize, our life is not about these things, there will be crime on earth. Do you know that humans is the only creatures on earth who try extremely hard to end the lives of their own kind. No animal will do this.

The punishments are in hopes others will see, you can't get away with crimes and hopefully not do them anymore.
