dish satellite

for the past couple of weeks, we have been having problems with out satellite system. it is mainly causing problems with local channels. we have a lot of stuff dvred b/c we are always busy. when we get home, it doesnt dvr. or it will dvr or 5 mins then cut out. we have had dish for 3 years so we know how it works. if we ask for someone to check it out, we have to pay 160 for them. i think its ridiculous that we would have to pay that amount for only 5 mins of service. it cuts out all the time. we tried switching companies but the way that our cottage is with my parents house, its difficult. we pay rent to my parents and the dish bill is included with our rent. the problem isnt the weather either or trees in the way b/c we have been having awesome weather and the leaves are falling off the trees already. we think its a technical problem. grr...so frustrating!

Is it threw Dish Network or an affiliate? I have heard many people say they have had problems with them. I have Directv and my it is great. My husband even ended up getting a job with them we liked it so much.

They use to have direct tv until we moved into their other house and wanted to be on the same plan and they wouldnt help so they switched to dish network. they were trying to switch back to direct tv but they would cooperate with our situation like dish did. thats cool that your hubby got a job there. we liked direct tv when we were living in another place but we had since moved.

That's unfortunate that they wouldn't work with you. Many times my husband has went to places where the customer was told "oh you can't have a dish" but yet my husband makes it work. Not all technicians or even the people operating the phone like their job enough to go the extra mile.
