He promised not to ever forsake us. Have you ever felt abandoned?

No matter how religious you are and how strong your faith is, there are times of ups and downs. During the trials of down moments, have you ever felt abandoned by God? I do sometimes feel abandoned when I'm the lowest path of my life. There are moments when I feel all alone, and think that I lost my faith ( not totally lose it, but can't deny that thoughts might have came up). I feel so guilty about it, but my humanity and limitation does feel it. That's what I am struggling to totally eliminate it. I fully aware that it's not that He's abandoning me, it's not the fact, only what sometimes felt when I'm in sorrow. Please share and hope we can encourage each other. God bless.

I am a mature christian as well. Yet this past year due to some terrible circumstances I have felt like God had abandonded me. I know in my heart that is doesn't leave us but it felt like my prayers were going nowhere... I felt truly abandonded to my own pain for many weeks. I struggled with being angry with God over circumstances as well. I know that I know He is God and He is there. I am still fighting through a struggle and a tough time, but He is with me no matter what!

I think a lot of Christian have get through the same feelings, and it can be a test how we keep hanging on Him no matter what. I understand what's your feeling. Sometimes it feels like want to just give up the faith and living on own way, but thatks be to God He sent His Holy Spirit to reminds and strengthen us. Up till now, I often feels the on and off. But I think we're not fail yet unless we've given up. Keep on believing, let's pray for each other.

I agree it is a test! I think so far we have not failed.. Peter said the trying of our faith is much more precious than gold. So we who stand in the face of great adversity must be truly wealthy! Yes, let us pray for one another. Paul said he was "helped" by the other Christian's prayers. (2 Corinthians 1:11) May we do the same for each other...

No, never. Even at the lowest point in my life, I still believe that God did not abandon me because I am always in a safe place. There are times that I suffer from heart aches from failed dreams but I always considered these things as a good training ground for myself to be emotionally strong. I always believed in the power of prayers, and if we always pray, God never abandon us. Sufferings and sacrifices are comprises of what life is all about, that's very natural but it doesn't mean God already forsake us. Sometimes those are part of the circumstances of our life on Earth to be in our destination according to God's plan.

Your share has strengthen me, and once again reminds me about prayer, the strength of it. Perhaps I'm just not patient to wait on His time, and feels like the prayers just going nowhere. But thanks again, this is my fight , have to live and move on with His blessings everyday, no matter what.
