insurance company's dirty tactics

I had a terrible night, I was late for work and I had to argue with someone in the insurance company. Before going to the office I went to the mall to pay my credit card and someone approached me to join their raffle and avail a free gift because I am using a credit card. They told me that I can join if I will attend a 45-minute discussion to promote their insurance company since they newly opened a branch in our town which is also inside that shopping mall. since its still early, I agreed to attend and listen to their promotional whatever, when I was there in their office, i realized that it was a one on one discussion on their insurance policy, but not wanting to be rude, i decided to just listed to the presentation, anyway they said its ok whether I agree to avail their policy or not. But 45-min turned into more than an hour and I was already late for work, I said taht I have to think about it and I need to do a little research about their company before entrusting my savings to them. But they are stil insisting, y not I can't sign up for their policy and there is no use to ask my parents or anyone or research because they had already presented their company profile. I had to argue with them so that I can get out of their office and go to work, I think its a terrible tactic and its not the proper way to handle prospected customers. I have nothing against the company just with someone with that company, but I forgot her name because I was already furious that time but I tried to be civil as possible.
