What is success?

To be successful means to have peace of mind in knowing you did your best, in doing your best that you are capable of becoming. If you could go to sleep every night, knowing that you have done everything that day to the best of your ability, then you were successful in achieving your goals for that day.
What do you consider to be success?

The essence of what you are saying is the truth. If you have accomplished whatever you set out to do, then that is success. The good and bad side, however stems me to concern. Are you implying that if a person with criminal intent sets out to steal or murder and does that it is also success? I guess if we really get down to the nitty gritty, he will actually achieve success.

The achievement of one's aim or goal is the real definition of success. The global feeling of success needs to be separated from any specific achievement, as one could have the esteem of colleagues at work, but not feel success as it was not the person's aim/goal.
There are times where unintentional successes occur, however, they occur when we reprioritize our aims/goals, to realize the unintentional accomplishment.

That is so true. Our goals change as we continue on the journey of life. I think personal goals are more important than what the achievement of any goal means to others. What others will think of you should not determine what you want to achieve.

Well success is not in 100% or numbers, its all in the satisfaction of your effort and giving a good fight.
