Why do people cheat and have an affair?

I have to agree; but calling something as serious as adultery "cheating" bothers me, because it tends to make it seem like something minor, which in truth it is a terrible violation of trust, and can have all kinds of awful implications.

I think people cheat and have an affair because they're bored of their partner and want to try something or someone new. It's like fresh meat and you're overdue. About catching disease, this is some series thing and it would definitely ruin your life and can even destroy your reputation.

I think honestly when people are cheating and having affairs they just think about the fun of it, i dont think they really take into account what will happen if they get caught or if they were to catch a disease and if they passed that disease onto their wife or husband. I also hate cheaters but i love watching the show cheaters on foxtel lol!
