Do you like watching sports on tv? Is it better in person? More exciting?
Which sports are your favorites to watch, and why?
I've never been much of a sports fan at all. I would never turn the game on. If my friends are watching it and I am there, okay maybe I would sit and watch it, but I don't care for them. I don't root for any teams in particular. I have always been this way. It seems like I am one of the few people who are not into sports.
Are you?

I like watching sports. I watch then regularly on TV and find out scores on the internet. My favourite sport would have to be cricket. I also enjoy soccer, rugby and motor sports. Ive to a few matches in person, it add a lot of excitement if your there, but mostly I watch sports on TV. Sad to hear that you are not into sports. You should start watching it for a little while everyday and before you know it you could be addicted to it.

Ever since I was a kid back in the early 1970s(around 1972 or so)I watched sports on TV(or even a the game)and rooted for the Chicago Cubs(and other teams including the Oakland A's of the 1970s)and hearing the late Jack Brickhouse yell "Back She Goes, Back! Back! Hey! Hey!" or the late Harry Caray yell "It Might Be, It Could Be, It Is! A Home Run! Holy Cow!" or "There's a drive, way back, might be outta here, Home Run! Holy Cow!" I really enjoyed watching sports and knowing everything(almost)about it! Stats, Scores, etc! Right now, as I speak(or write)I'm watching the Yankees-Angels game 6 of the 2009 ALCS(American League Championship Series)If the Yankees win this, they'll go to the World Series and play the Philadelphia Phillies in the fall classic for the first time since 1950! If not, and they lose, they'll play game 7 with the Angels! Anyways, just watch a sports game and one day, you'll understand it and know it!

I'm into SOME sports. I mostly enjoy watching sports on TV but there are a few I don't mind watching in person. My all time favorite sport to watch on TV is football! Sundays are football days here in my household. My husband and I have it on all day long and we really enjoy watching it together. I've never been to a live, pro football game - but someday I'd love to go! I've only ever seen high school and college football in person and that was ok. I HATE watching baseball on TV but I LOVE watching it in person. Other than that I don't really watch any other sports. Hockey can be very cool to see in person or on TV but I just don't tend to watch it much.

How bout boxing or MMA do u like watching it too? watching on TV is not as excitng as watching it in person but if it your favorite team that is playing it wont matter anymore. I think that watching it with friends make it more fun, booze plus the craziness of my friends and also the betting.

Yes, I do like watching sports on the TV once in a while, when I have the time, Sunday afternoons or evenings when I can just sit down in front of the Tv and relax. I would spend more time if it is a favorite. And, one of my favorites is tennis. I played tennis when I was younger, and I like watching the game today too.

You know its kind of weird. I was never into sports until the last year. I follow baseball a little (Go Mets!)
I have never been as into a sporting event as I was the NBA finals this year. I watched and screamed, jumped around, stressed out over all the games for the first time in my life. It was so amazing. I loved it a lot. My female friends and I would go out to the bars and all the guys would love us cause most of the time we were just as into the games as they were.
I also really like Tennessee football wise. I can't stand the Eagles. So I just pretty much root against them all the time.

I think most of the responses against this post will start with a "YES". Sports are very exciting and people love watching them. It goes even to an extent that people get deeply involved with sports and often end up doing weird things.
Watching sports on TV is a good option since watching one live may not be possible every time. But I will say, watching a live sports is much much more exciting than enjoying it on TV, chiefly due to the environment that gets created at the site, the players, the crowd, the support, sledging and all kind of things.
I love watching Soccer, Tennis and Cricket, although I am an aweful player of any outdoor sport

i can say that there are big difference on watching sports on tv than on live. at live you can feel the excitement and you can feel the wildness. you feel like you really belong and you feel that all of you are like relatives cheering and having fun. but when i am watching at home there are more scene captured that you did not saw when you are watching it live. the cameras can zoom very close that you can see what the player did to the other one. so i guess it is both fun to watch live and on tv. but i am not much to sport too. my brother loves basket ball and he always drag me along to watch it live. but i guess you can not see all the moves that the tv camera can capture that you can see while watching it on tv

i love to watch boxing and baseball and also basketball. but if i have a chance to watch any of this sports in person, i would watch them. basketball is one of my favorites when i was a teen. i played in some local leagues. i also played baseball when i was a teen. if i to choose, i would like to play baseball again rather than basketball. for boxing, it fine with me watching this sports on tv.

I am a sports fan, I like hockey. I don't like watching it in the arena I like to watch it on TV. Sometimes it's pretty cool to watch it in a restaurant. Especially when my team is winning.

janebeth,
Did I hear you right? You say you're no sport fan? of any sport? You think it's boring? I think it's fun, but, to each his(or her)own! As I said, I'm watching the Yankees and Angels from New York on TV(from my home in Chicago)

I am the same way. If it is on the TV I will watch but I don't deliberately turn it on. I like watching football but that is about it. I think baseball is like watching paint dry and I can't stand basketball. I would rather watch the cooking channel for nine hours than watch golf. You are not alone!

Hi Bethany1202!
I actually do enjoy watching sports on tv. I never really was a sports watcher until I mt my sweetheart. He is a big sports fan, espcially football and baseball. I enjoy watching these sports, as well as hockey. I will turn on and watch a game if a team I'm interested in is playing (either the Pittsburgh teams or Wisconsin teams). However, I usually don't watch a game if I'm by myself, but I love to watch games with my sweetheart. I also love watching both the summer and winter Olympics.

I am not really into sports... but i played tracks and volleyball when i was i high school... when it comes to watching sports on tv... if it is like figure skating or floor gymnastics... my eyes will be glued to the screen... i love the way they moved and the choreography is like something i never thought any human could ever do...
But when it is sports that involves a ball... i immediately turn to another channel...

I have a problem with crowds, one might even call it a fear, so I don't enjoy my time out watching sports. I enjoy watching sports on television for that simple reason. Also watching sports live has become a reason to brag to friends. I don't like that at all. You should go to the game because you enjoy it and not for pride.

Hi. I would much rather watch a game of football on tv than play it in person. And, coming from England I know it can be really cold watching live matches so that surely can't be that fun! I also like watching Cricket and think that the bonus of watching it on tv is that you can leave whenever you want to instead of having to stay for the whole game, which in Cricket and Tennis games could go on for a long time!

Yes. I like to watch sports on tv. I like to watch Cricket and hockey. When you have more friends watching live match on tv, you have more fun. Because all of our friends share their comments, information and other things. Sometimes, their may be a party after winning of our own team by sharing some pocket money. We should play sports as well.
