Hi there and smile! Gallstones are small pebbles that form inside the gallbladder. Its main causes include genetics and diets high in fat. Often small and harmless, gallstones can be flushed out by bile fluid that our bodies naturally produce. However, if a larger one forms, it can cause blockage of bile in the gallbladder or liver and can lead to serious discomfort and infection, which can even lead to surgery. The following are some tips given by medical professionals to avoid gallstone formation. Exercise. Says a study at the University of Illinois, physical activity can significant reduce gallstone formation. So make sure you stretch and flex your muscles regularly. Drink at least 2-3 liters of water per day. This helps flush out existing small gallstones before they become bigger and harmful. Eat foods with which are good Omega-3 fatty acid and Vitamin C sources. Tests have shown that omega-3 fatty acids and Vitamin C may also help prevent gallstones. Do the apple therapy. If you have been diagnosed with gallstones, you may try the apple therapy method which many people have proven effective because apple has components that can soften the gallstones. Just drink at least 4 glasses of apple juice everyday for a week. You can also eat 4-5 apples per day, whichever you prefer. Happy mylotting and smile always!

i just found out that i have gallstons. i'm not sure if what i had was an attack or not but it felt like a lot of acid and gas build up in the middle of my stomach. i couldn't move for two days. it sucked.. but every since i found out i have them i've been eating a low fat diet. i no longer add butter to foods or i don't add nearly as much. it doesnt taste as good but its still good. i'm getting in around 30-40gms of fiber a day. i eat double fiber bread and i eat breakfast cookies with added fiber in them. try adding as much fiber and whole grains to your diet as you can. stay away from all soda and sugar drinks, coffee. drink as much water as you can. stay away from eggs, dairy products red meant, ice cream, pork, onion, oranges. eat lots of fruits and veggies, fish is good, just stay away from anything high in fat, or sat, trans fats, also watch your cholesterol intake. i think high cholesterol intakes can set it off too. i think thats why eggs sets it off for so many people because they are high in cholesterol. lots of fiber and water is the best thing. at least since i've been eating this way for 1 week now i've been feeling better. good luck. i hope you dont have anymore attacks.

The first attack I had , I thought I was dying, it felt like a heart attack (or what i imagined one would feel like). I didnt know it was a gallstone attack the first time though as it happened whilst I was having a c-section. The second again I thought i wasa dying as I couldnt breathe and it felt like a heartattack, the rest have been a little more mild.

Hi there and smile. I hope this will helps: 1. Do not overeat 2. Diet high in fiber - lots of vegetables 3. Avoid refined carbohydrates (including sugar and white flour) 4. Omega 3 oils and other polyunsaturated fats and monosaturated fats such as olive oil, avocado, sunflower etc. 5. Avoid saturated and trans fats 6. Eat more polyunsaturated 7. Eat moderate amounts of lean meats 8. Drink at least 6-8 glasses of water per day 9. Regular exercise 10.Lose excess weight, but slowly 11.Elimination diet for food allergies - cut out common allergens such as wheat and all other grains containing gluten, and dairy 12.Supplemental bile salts and bile thinning agents as found in the gallbladder products. In particular I would suggest the Gallbladder Starter Kit to begin with and then the Gallstone Kit. Individual products that are also helpful are Bile Salts and Phos Drops. The Lemon Tea Kit helps to emulsify fats and research shows that limonene has been used successfully to dissolve gall stones. Happy mylotting
