I'm a Filipino and i'm curious to know is how truly popular our country's native dish ADOBO. If yes, what is your experience?
ADOBO, is anything cooked with either or both soy sauce & vinegar. There are many varieties to this dish. Some will use pork or some chicken. You can even use fish or seafood and veggies as the main ingredient for this dish. This is a very delicious dish!

I love adobo whether chicken or pork. I also do know how to cook it. I guess majority of us Filipinos knew how to. I must agree with you that this dish is very delicious. There are lots of ay to cook adobo. Some uses soysauce and potato. We call it "Adobo sa Toyo". We do have another version of adobo wherein we put some turmeric powder (luyang dilaw) and papaya. We call it "Adobo sa Dilaw". Adobo is really one of the best dish here in the Philippines.

We love adobo because we are Filipinos and it is our own dish. I like chicken adobo than pork. We haven't tried "Adobo sa Dilaw" we have dilaw (turmeric) planted in our garden but we never tried to put it in our adobo. Adobo have many version now a days.

I was surprised to see on TV that there are actually hundred or even thousands of versions of adobo in almost every region and province here in the Philippines. Oh , I love adobo especially when the meat is so tender that it falls off the bones. Well some adobos do use meat with bones so that's the one that i love the most. And I want it a a bit sweetened.
Anyway, I do know of a lot of foreigners who adore adobo as well. It's our pride but well we also must observe moderation because we do get a lot of illnesses by eating them all the time.

Yup, there are many ways to cook adobo. Unlike with other countries where they have standard recipe for each dish they have, we filipinos don't have any standard recipes for our food. Maybe because of the more than 7k islands that we have! and this is the main reason why our food is so great because we have a very rich culture!
My husband likes his adobo a little bit dried, wherein the meat was absorbed all the sauce! yummy! my children loves it a little bit sweet just like you...
happy cooking & eating!!!
