I was wondering if you limit the sites that you visit on youre computer and also when you do can you make sure that the site is safe. I am not really smart when it comes to computers I just know how to do a few things and was curious to see if there is people like me out there?

I don't really restrict my surfing activities to the so called safe websites. It's nearly impossible to determine where a virus came from, should you get one. With respect to tracking cookies, spyware or malware, I don't think they are direct threats to a computer, just potential ones (or am I wrong?). I have an anti-virus installed on my computer and this somehow comforts me. Not for long, it's about to expire soon.

hmm..not really limit it, but i do visit some sites that i've bookmarked it everyday. and if i found new great site, then i will bookmark it and visit it again next days. i don't know if the way i make sure if the site is safe is right though, but i have some tips :
if u are using mozilla, try to install an add-on WOT and AdBlock Plus
we can use WOT to make sure if the site is safe or not
and Adblock Plus is to avoid us from having a spams
next, u have to use a strong antivirus on ur computer. it will protect u from the unsave site, that might has a virus on its contents.
well, at least that's my suggestion kylanie..
happy mylotting =D

I do limit the site I visit. One reason I use firefox and an addon called noscript. Noscript prevent scripts to run without me allowing it, the trade off of this is the site will not load properly, specially those with dynamic content, fancy flash animation and even youtube videos. For sites that I frequent with I set it to allow always and for those new ones, if I really want to see it properly then I could allow it temporarily until I restart my firefox. I make sure too that my antivirus and my firewall is always up to date and enabled.
