Hello, i have windows 7 beta. I try to install it. I am facing two problems .. 1. I think the file setup.Exe is corrupt. When i run it to upgrade it gives me two errors, something of dll files. I want to upgrade my vista to win 7, for this i need setup.Exe file, if u have same plz send me at aimeedia2x@yahoo.com 2. When i try to clean install win7 by booting dvd, it says there is no cd/dvd drive detected, plz browse the driver for dvd drive to intstall it. But i dont have drivers. I have a lg dvd burner. It is working fine with xp and vista. Dvd is ok as it boot and start setup. If u have driver or link for same plz help me. Thanx

ok if u have downloaded windows 7 not from Microsoft but some other forums then , it could be a corrupt file . but the error dvd drive not detected means you haven't setup the bios options correctly. restart press F2 or delete in some cases continuously bios priority cd/vd save and exit. REMEMBER BURN DVD AT LOWEST SPEED POSSIBLE. now if it still the not working. then go to www.microsoft.com and upgrade ur os. they are giving away free trial upgrade of windows 7. for 30 days. you can search for trial re setters and u r done. .......happy to help.......

I haven't use the Windows 7 OS because it is only a beta. At some point it will be useless unless you make a purchase or get an illegal copy. People are very happy having used the beta and find it much better than Vista. Hopefully you used the compatibility program that Microsoft has to ensure it can be installed on your computer. I will address your second problem with drivers, you should have had a back up of all your drivers before you installed the OS, same as you would need them for a reformat with OEM OS, it saves headaches. Not sure if it's an incompatibility problem with Windows 7 but I doubt it. Find out what your computer model number is and what your computer is running, meaning Intel or some other. Go to their website and look for driver downloads. You should be able to find the missing driver.

The driver of your DVD drive was not in the package of windows7, all you have to do is manually install it when windows asking for the driver. I always encountered this problem when installing redhat5 of linux, either the driver of hardisk or DVD rom are always missing. If you have an old CD ROM you can use it, just make it as an external drive then boot your windows7 installer.
