It's real common here in the states. In fact some of the best hair people are men. We really don't think anything about it or at least the people that I know don't think about it. It's a job. As long as they do a good job...who really cares about the gender?

I tend to go to the higher range hairdressers and you quite often get men working in there. I would say around 30% of the people who work there are men as a guess. I tend to find that the smaller chains that are cheaper never have men working in them, I don't know why that's just the way it is around here. Also the salons I go into the people who wash the hair also cut hair too or are training to cut hair so it wouldn't really be a shameful thing to do.

Yeah, my hair had been wash by male salon worker for a few times. The last time I got my hair cut it was done by male hairdresser as well. I have no problem with them as long as they do their job professionally. Being a hairdresser or a salon worker is a good and decent job. I think it's also a noble job because they help people to look their best. Cheers to them!
