Since I have started here in mylot, I am very open with all the problems and achievements that i have got. I treat this site as my family. And I feel so relieve every time i am reading all the advices given by the members. Here I am again, I am sharing a new situation happened for me today and I want to get your opinion about this. Many of you knows that I am working as a Customer Service Representative. In all the companies here in our country, our company is one of those companies whose trying to lessen the number of employees. Just in our department, they will transfer 240 employees in other departments and other sites. Last week 2 batches were already endorsed in the other accounts, about 140 employees.Today, they have release a new list of those who will be transferred, and my name is the list. I am just disappointed why my name is in the list. Not to boastfully say, I am a candidate of the top Customer Service Representative of the year. I just wonder why this has happened? It's unfair in my part. I have take good care of my status for me to be on top,and then this time they will transfer me in another account. By next week, we will be endorsed in other campaign, I do not know if I will take the offer. i was really disappointed.my manager do not know as well the reason for the endorsement that happened to me. If this happens to you, what will you do?

well the very first to do is ask first... why do they do it? if possible ask them. becasue it is better to know why they did it anyways. but who knows maybe they put you to another account because maybe that account needed your help. and because you are one of the best there that is why they put you on the spot. but does your money or salary changes as well? well we do not know there point why you are part of them. but who know it might be for the better of you. what you think? jhelai

How I wish that is the case. what if not?I have to start all over again, i have to undergo again another training. I am already one year and four months in my current account now.It is really hard hard to adjust. New product, new friends and new environment. The saddest thing there is that I will have to go another interview and examination, which I don't understand of doing that again,as if I am applying again for a new company. As the rumor say, the account will be dissolve by april 2010. I have exerted a lot of effort in the campaign, i am really sad that I will be transferred. I don't know yet about the salary.

Well, I think the best thing that you can do is speak to your manager and perhaps ask for a reconsideration. Perhaps your manager might reconsider. Tell your manager that you like your job and position and perhaps tell him or her that you are doing your best. I do hope that your manager will give you consideration. If assuming the transfer will push through, then you have to make the decision. Perhaps try it out and see what happens. Who knows in that area you will really excel. But should you find it very hard or perhaps find the job really not fitting, then I think it would be the time to find something that you are comfortable with. Remember that you can not be effective if you have no interest in your job. Good luck!

May I know who made the decision for your transfer? Your Manager got the instructions from the top management, right. If it's possible to speak to the top management; just to check why you are transferred or something; would that be possible. If not, then you would have to make do with the transfer and make good out of it. Don't worry, my friend, if you are good, you will definitely shine through and your Immediate Supervisor will see that. Perhaps all the transferred cases are special ones; given special tasks. Have you checked this department like what kind of job scope you will be doing..

You may be disappointed right now, but this is probably going to turn into a great opportunity. Look at the positive side of things, maybe the transfer is do to how well you do your job and nothing else, maybe, just maybe another department needs your skill and ability.

hello rberon, I guess they really had to compromise in order to keep themselves from laying off. my suggestion is that you better talk to your manager so that he can complain it to the higher office, probably they didn't recognize your position on that account. if you get transfered, it will be hard for others to teach the other newbies who are coming in.

Whenever I read your discussions about work, I am always saddened and frustrated. The call center industry and its management team has a long history of manipulating people, just because they feel that it will benefit the account. Have you spoken with your supervisor or team lead about this issue? I have always been fortunate not to be included in the Rigodons done by the management when I was still working in this industry. One reason why they don't do anything without talking to me about it first is that they know that all hell will break loose if they do something that they know I will not approve. I am not saying that I am a bad employee, rather I am a good employee and I think it is simple courtesy to ask who wants to be transferred and who wants to stay. My advise for you in this situation is to look at it as a whole, rather than the disappointing fact that you will be endorsed to another account. Think of the benefits of staying, and the benefits of going to another account. Ask your team lead or manager if your current performance will be taken into consideration once you start in the new account. Sounds sad, but this is one of the reasons why I decided to leave the call center industry even if it was paying me well. I could no longer stomach the politics and manipulation. Good luck.

I guess I would ask for some explanation as to why it was happening. I hate it when employers feel they can treat you very badly just because you work for them. I would simply try to find out what you can about the company and just say you would prefer not to be transferred, that you are happy where you are and discuss how you have high status in the company and would hope to stay where you are.

hi rberon I can see you are disappointed but I have a hunch' that if they are trying to lessen the number of employees in'each division, someone, maybe this is rather callous, just picked out certain names at random without even knowing a thing about them and just moved them to a different section. I mean there was no malice intended as all the names were just numbers to this person, it does seem unfair but what can you do ? will you receive the same pay scale anyway? if so why worry about it. I am retired and I have never worked in a large company so dont know what I would do. But I think I would go along with the change and do so good there you will still be top Customer Representative of the year anyway. good luck and God bless theron. also remember a job in the hand is worth a whole lot more that a dozen promised.

This is a blessing in disguise. You have proved yourself here. Your work is well appreciated and so the management wants you to take the charge there and iron the wrinkles there. Look at the positive side of things. You are getting to learn the working of every department. Slowly you can be an allrounder and a strong asset for the company. With this knowledge you can start your own business some day. Good luck and take care.

Hi rberon.. It sounds like you having some problems within your company. I noticed that you had said that you didn't understand and that you was one of the top. Maybe they needed you there because you are on the top. They wanted someone that they knew could handle it and make good production..Also they may have bigger plans for you and needed to check you out first. Other words my friend thank positive..Have a nice day and better tomorrow..

I guess this is their way of making sure you have enough experience with many accounts. This will also indicate to them that you have the capability to be a high achiever. I would take this more as a challenge than as a disappointment. After all, life is full of challenges. Take it all in stride. All the best to you.

If this happens to me, I have to accept the reality that I dont own the company. I am just an employee and I have to accept their decision. BESides, I have to accept this as a challenge, mind you a greater opportunity might be waiting for me.in the next account. Good luck

rberon1985, Just do not be overwhelmed by these events especially during these economically challenging times where restructurings and cost cutting retrenchments are rampant. If you still like and have the job, then accept and continue working. It is certainly not helping you if you do not let go and accept reality. Accept and adapt, if your livelihood is dependent on this job that you have. If it is too much to bear then by all means look for another better prospective job. I am sure with your qualifications and experiences, you will be able to find a job of your liking and preference. Take care and have a nice day.
