Its not surprising that many people have a quick bite and rush to work, or children skipping their breakfast to catch their school bus. Is skipping breakfast ok or does it affect one's health? I have missed breakfast on many occasions but haven't felt that bad that day.

In modern society it's quite normal that many office workers have little time to enjoy their breakfast. If they spend much time on having breakfast, they pay the price of sleeping less time. So they face a tradeoff. To me, enjoying a wonderful sleep is a little more comfortable than having a delicous breakfast. Of course it would be perfect if I could enjoy both. In my view, even if you have little time in the morning, you'd better eat something to fill your stomach, or it's function would be affected negatively. I heard that when there's nothing in your stomach, the gastric acid will erode it, which would lead to gastropathy in the future.

It probably is not a good thing to do but I do very rarely eat breakfast. I just don't often have much appetite first thing in the morning. I will have a couple of cups of coffee and that is good enough for me. I get hungry more towards noon and then I'll have lunch. My daughter eats a decent breakfast every morning before running off to school. She says she feels sick to her stomach if she is running late and misses it.

Well I don't think it necessarily makes you feel ill but it does affect your brain and the way it works. Your body won't have intook energy for a very long time so things like concentrating will be alot harder to do and you may feel sluggish. You are also more prone to snacking on unhealthy things later on that morning because you are hungry and craving sugar and over eating at lunch time. I used to skip both lunch and breakfast while I was at school and had awful problems concentrating and maintaining energy levels.

Hello suchi, I don't eat breakfast,i usually just have coffee or tea in the morning and have my meal at lunch time. According to herbal doctors,no food intake until 10 in the morning and just drinking water is much better to cleanse our system and also for detoxying. Have a great weekend

yaeh, many people skip their breakfast to go for work ro go to school, but i eat my breakfast everyday regularly, even in winter when the weather is cold,i get up at 7:30am to eat my breakfast. and in fact, skipping breakfast is harmful for heathy, because we have much work to do in the morning normally,so breakfast should be the most important meal.
