Do you know someone who is overly dramatic?

I do.. and it is starting to bother me. I want to call them on it. But I don't know if it's the right thing to do. It seems to me they are just trying to get attention. How would you handle a person like that? Ignore it? I am trying to.

Hello ersmommy. This discussion of yours reminds me of one of my childhood playmates, who is a few years younger than me. I remember that one day she was trying to draw our attention by saying that she would like to kick us raising high of her foot when she was wearing a pair of new shoes. We knew that it was out of her desiring to let us know she was wearing new shoes and we had a good laugh over it, but of course it was in a friendly way when we were laughing because she was our dear playmates and she was younger than us. Even now when thinking of this, I am smiling and I miss this playmate of mine, whom I have not been able to see for almost two decades. We used to be neighbors, good neighbours. But if it is an adult who is overly dramatic, it is different. It is not so cute as what a child does. As to what reaction I will have to it, it all depends on the situation. Probably I would ignore it or smile it away.

Yes I do, and it bothers me too. She's over the top on everything! I try to just ignore it. She's at it again today. She made this huge to-do over having to go renew her license because it's her 29th birthday. Well, everyone in NY state had to renew their license on their 29th birthday... I did it a few months ago... so why does she need to make this huge deal out of it? I feel like telling her how many of my birthdays I've spent at the DMV... this year to renew my license, last year to get my van on the road, the year I got married I went down on my birthday to change my name on all my information because I was married a week before my birthday. Not to mention the 16th to get the license.. yeah, I could go on. Now she's saying she hates birthdays because of how this one is going. Ugh.. come on now!

I know a bunch of overly dramatic people. Those are the kind of people that just annoy the piddle out of me. You can either call them out or try to avoid them. Which ever works best for you. The only thing is if you call them on it, they'll just over react and make a big deal out of it like they do everything else.

I have encountered such type of people before. And they are really bothering. I would say I am an emotional type of person but not an overacting or over dramatic one. I know the line between being emotional to that of being dramatic. Well, I think we should just ignore whatever and how drama he or she is showing. That's the best thing to do I guess. Just try to ignore that person. No matter how you are bothered with what he or she is doing.
