Hello, mylotters. How was your sleep? did you sleep well? can you say that your morning is good? Last night was another horrible night for me because my school age brother and my mom snore every night, I mean they snore everyday, either in the morning, afternoon or in the evening! Our neighbor can hear them especially when the night is calm. My room is located at the corner but i can still hear them snoring and I always wake up with black circles around my eyes.

This is horrible and I understand how you feel. Although, I have never been disturbed by someone snoring in another room, when my husband is laying next to me and snoring .... Let's just say he gets knocked around a lot. I cannot fall asleep if the person next to me is snoring. It's better if they let me fall asleep first. This usually works. But, if someone is snoring next to me and I haven't fallen asleep, yet, I have to make them stop before I can fall asleep. This usually means waking them up. If you're in another room you can buy one of those sleep machines that play nature noises. This, or running a fan, or playing to a lite radio station might drown out their noise. Also, if their snoring is that bad they might want to see a doctor because their snoring could actually be unhealthy for them. GL.

My ears are sensitive, I was recently diagnose with hyper accusi so I can hear sounds from a distance. I also can't stay long in a place that is so quiet because I can hear anything,my ears are like dogs I can hear high pitch noise sometimes. Yes, i think my little brother has a problem because he snore like a big guy. It so funny when my mom snore and my brother is still wake he pinch our mom's nose or slap her gently on the face to wake her up. Thanks for the response, Jalucia.

I hate it when somebody snores and I am trying to get some sleep. Like you Jalucia, it is okay if I can sleep first before somebody who snore or else I will be awake until dawn. I do not have this problem with my husband as he do not snore. It is only when we are visiting my parent's house that I've got to deal with it as my father and two of my brother snores so loud and sometimes in unison! Imagine how grumpy am I in the morning after a horrible night :(

Hi simonelee! Me too! I can't sleep well when someone snores!! I may be able to sleep but it's always restless and feels like half-sleep. One time, I went to Manila with a co-worker, and we stayed in a hotel. She snored so loud!!!! I kept waking up every now and then, LOL!

Anyway, your colleague snores like a pig? Oink! Oink! Oink! I'm sure you cover your face with pillow. And If i where in your situation I'm probably sleeping in the bathtub. Is she fat? as I observed ladies who are fat usually snore.
Thanks for the response.

I always wanted to work in NGO but when I was hired and when the time table was presented to me I back out. working with boss doesn't really work for me. (whisper) I don't want to be dictated. Thanks for your time.

Hi simonelee! I used to work in a manufacturing company, and yes, it is an NGO company. We usually do outings and some activities that involve nature :) But I'm a freelancer now. Most of the adventures in my blog are my own, also together with my friends from my previous job. We still communicate and they usually invite me when they have out of town adventures :) Anyway, no my friend isn't fat at all! And yes, I almost buried my head in my pillow! LOL! I'm not being mean or anything but she really snores so loud! She isn't fat but she drinks coffee a lot. I heard that coffee can also cause snoring...just heard it though, not sure how true it is :)

My 2nd sister snored very loud too.
My mum used to complained can't sleep. She only sleep when
she wake up and left to work.
If I sleep first, then I won't hear the snore.
But if she snored first, then I will have difficulty
to sleep. I heard that currently in the market, there
was this patch/plaster that just paste at the nose can
helps the person not to snore.

patch? we should buy one. Let's put patch on their nose for the entire day. Peace! Veron(the one responded here)told me that drinking coffee can cause snoring. shes not sure about that but I think it's true because my mom is a coffee addict. Does your sister drink coffee too?
Thanks for the share.

Hi simonelee, the same with me here, but not my bro or my mom...the culprits are diffrent...Also the intensity and sound of snoring gets to the roof during wnter. It may be related to the swelling of that thing inside the nose which causes the sound, but I cant help to not mention...my husband used to snore, and i would say, unless you get treatment, I would take you to hospital and get your nose operated...Luckily he started having homeopathic medicine and it gave great releif. My father inlaw's room is on the opposite corner to ours, still I get to hear the snor loud and clear...I wonder how my mother in law used to sleep beside him...

I did not sleep sound every night and easier to wake up if any noise around. I can not stand the snore, particularly the sounds is aroused from your besides, it is horrible.
Now I am worried that my future husband will have a SNORE habit that I can not stand. I never know whether he is having this bad habit or not without living together with him. LOL.
Some people advised that you can consider it is a bored song, and then you can fall asleep along with lullaby. How could I if it is not really? Hehe~~

At first it will be hard for you to adjust but since you're married with the one you love, later on you'll be immune to that lullaby. Just imagine your husband humming twinkle twinkle little star in a weirdest tone.
here at home I feel like we have a pigpen at the backyard. Oink! Oink!

Yeah me too. But i think its a matter of mind setting. at first i do hate people who are snoring when they sleep. but when you set your mind not to ignore them during your sleep. try to switch on your radio at night so that it neutralize the snoring sound.

Hello, again. today, i can say that it's another day with a restful day. I woke up with a smile on my face. Why? I've been sleeping for days now in my mom's room to learn to deal with their snoring issue and I can say that it's working.

Snoring Does Take Place When There Is Deep Sleep Experience By that Person .. Snorers Don't Understand That They Are Disturbing Anybody As They Are Deep In Sleep .. They Should Be Informed About this Habit in the Mornings When They Are Awake .. It Is Disturbing, I Can Understand Your Problem .. Can I Be Of Any Help Online, I Don't Think So .. I Can Just Feel Sorry For You .. Hope You Fix This Problem Somehow ..

Well, I guess i'm being immune for a couple of days now. I wake with a smile on my face. I think I had a good night sleep or maybe i was too tired for two consecutive days that makes me fall asleep. I'm still hoping that one day I overcome this snoring problem. I still love them.

I can relate to that! Your discussion makes me smile because snoring is a huge problem at our house which has resulted in my husband sleeping in the guest room for the past few weeks because I cannot take his snoring any longer! He is so loud you can hear him from the kitchen some nights; I am a light sleeper so you can imagine how much rest I get!
I sent him to have a sleep test and he was told he needs to lose a few pounds and that may help. He didn’t snore before we got married…See what happens after the wedding (LOL)! We have tried so many different methods to stop the infernal noise all to no avail so I guess it’s a diet for him or the spare room for the rest of his life!

in your guest room? how did you ask him? iis it okay with him sleeping in other room? is he fat now?well, this is not common among couples. when they're already married they become unconscious when it comes to their figure. They pay less attention to their self due to other important errands. Thanks for the share, paula.

hi, when i saw this discussion mememory went wild remembering those time i had with people where i had this expirence with, I had a roommate before that snore so bad i can't sleep so in the morning i told him that he was snoring and snoring is actuallt a bad sign it means that you are having a bad oxygen circulation when you sleep. but ofcouse he never went to the doctor to get some help, so the only way for me is to sleep earlier that him.

I think that strategy won't work for me because I'm a light sleeper I easily awaken with those simple noise. but, I'm trying to deal with this sleeping problem and I do some rituals to make my mind and body relax to have a good night sleep. Thanks for the share, pooh.

I sleep so well every night. I`m just with my mom in my appartement and she`s not snoring . My dad it`s working every night , and my brother isn`t at home in the night . When i had a girlfriend , she was snoring ,and it wasn`t good at all . When we wanted to sleep i had to sleep faster than she, because otherwise, i couldn`t sleep . I was pushing her sometimes to move and not to snore , but in 5 minutes she was snoring again . It`s better now without her .

yes, i can sleep even with someone snoring. i sleep like a log especially if i am so tired. it is funny with ur mom and little brother snoring and u can still hear them in ur room .... and ur black circles, too(sorry for that). don't u think it is high time for them to see a doc to ask about this sleeping pattern they have? for u, maybe u make it a point to sleep ahead of them and play soothing music to die their snores down. hope u sleep well tonight.

Thanks for the concern, money. I already asked my mom if my brother have to visit his pediatric for another health reason, i asked her if she can also include the snoring problem because he is too young to snore. But unfortunately she always forget to ask my brother's pedia.

Yeah, I have mastered the art of sleeping despite hearing a snore as loud as a choo choo train. In fact, I myself snore, and my roommates have brought it to my attention. But they snored, too, although they were just too proud to admit it. Sooner or later, everybody snores, so if you can't sleep or live with it, you have better quit on life altogether. There's no business for you to be here if you can't do anything without getting distracted by the noise or some other pathetic excuse for not being able to do something when you can.

I have heard many people saying that they find it difficult to sleep when someone snores. I don't care about it at all. I am a person who start sleeping very fast and I will wake up only in the morning. I have a continuous sleep. Even if I am awake and somebody snores, it really don't restrict me from getting into sleep.

Hey,Simonelee, I feel sorry for you. My husband snores at times and it makes me painful. Sometimes I was awakened by his snore in the midnight, I pushed him to turn round to make his snore to stop for a while, and tried everything to make myself fall asleep. I think relaxed people seldom snore, and you could help your brother and your mom at ease before sleep. By the way, Milk is said to help sleep.

I have to say that snoring does not really bother me. that being said I have never been with someone that snored really bad. I usually enjoy a little "white noise" like having a fan on or the TV on in the background while I sleep. So I guess I am a little untraditional in that regard. Maybe you could invest in some comfortable ear plugs. I hope that your brother and mother can get to the bottom of why they snore, because in some instances it can be signs of a serious conditon.
