manila, manila, there is no place like manila... that song makes me so proud of manila. manila is famost of its beauty and culture. as the song describes manila, i love the jeepneys all around the city that takes you everywhere. from quiapo to to any point of metro manila. the rich and combined cultures of many nationalities such as chinese, indians, americans and many more. manila is not just known because of its beauty, it is known for its flooding prowess...yes, the neverending water reservoir all around sampaloc...the knee high rain made river flows along the stretch of ESPANA...not the country SPAIN, it is an ave in manila that sinks whenever hard rain come pouring down. i remember a song saying, theres a sunshine after the rain...i have a song for manila, there is traffic after the rain...yes, heavy traffic after the rain...you think that you survived the heavy rain and you think you can celebrate? NO my friend, you need to endure at least 5 hours of traffic before you can go home to the comfort of your bed, your wife if you have one. oh, you have decided to walk home, that might lessen your hours of waiting in traffic, then you forgot, the flood is still there, flowing all around you... before you begin cursing of the situation, remember, you can always smile and sing manila, manila, i keep coming back to manila... there is no place like home...MANILA

If I am not mistaken, the song was created during the late 70's. Things have already changed since then. Manila used to be a very beautiful city back then when First Lady Imelda Marcos was the administrator of the Metropolitan Manila. How is it now? Still the beautiful Manila that we used to see?

Well, just so you know, Manila is flooded right now. Every bit of road here is impassable, even in Quezon City. I was supposed to accompany my wife for her check-up but had to cancel it due to non-stop rain. Quezon Avenue is now severly flooded and impassable.
