I want to know what kinds of superstitions we commonly have. For one, many in India feel a cat crossing ones path as very inauspicious. I found many drivers of cars and buses stopping if a cat crosses the path.
i want to know such beliefs world wide..

nope, I live in India and have seen many people who are strictly believe and follow superstition, why even my mom does but I'm not the kind of guy. I purely hate the superstitious beliefs but some I do follow with scientific reasons.

Here in my country many people are very superstitous in fact some of them are just misconceptions.Like if you broke a mirror it is very likely that you will face badluck later in your life.I dont beleved in some superstitious they are just created to make us aware and be safe always. Its main reason is security because if we feel fear because if we accidentaly broke a mirror then we are already have an idea that bad things will happened to us so with that idea it gives us awareness and be very conscious on the things around us.

Even in India, that is considered as a bad omen. If a mirror breaks, it always brings bad luck.

Yes I am very superstitious. I believe in good and bad luck (karma). When old people tell me not to do something because it may bring bad luck, I believe them. For some people, these may be wrong beliefs but they really happen whether coincidentally or real. It is better to be having something to believe in than regret in the end.

it is true that we should have something on which to hold on in life-call it a belief or anything. only we should not be over engrossed in it. it is ok to believe especially if elders have told us .sometimes people have learnt from experiences we had not faced. still periodically we should evaluate these beliefs and try to find some meaning in them.
