My dog is ill - again. And again I have to pay a lot for doctors - which is difficult (I don't have job). But it is not about money - it is about my great fear that something bad will happen to my dog or rabbits (I have two of them). There is a huge ammount of love in my heart for them. To be honest - I am terryfied that my dog will not be ok. She is not so young but she is my friend and my family. Do you think that it is strange to love animal? To treat them like family. I am asking because some of my friends thing I am crazy and that animal is animal - and nothing more.

Hi Krupik, Sad to hear that your dog is sick. so how is it now? Is it getting better today? I don't keep pet at home,as I am not a pet lover. I scared of dog. When I was kid, i ever been chased by a dog and from that time onwards,I am so scared of dog. Everytime when I visit someone house, I will have to make sure that they have no dog inside their house. I also have another sad news to share with you. My in-laws keep 2 small dogs at home and one of them just passed away 2 days ago. It is pretty sudden and we noticed that the dog looks so weak at night. It did not want to eat too. Just lie them quietly. The next day,my mother-in-law thought of bringing the sick dog to the veterinarian, but it was too late. Its life is gone. I was so sad although I am not a pet lover,I love to see these two cutes dogs playing with each other. Now, only left one dog in the cage. I can feel that dos is lonely now.

I was like you a few months back, now I have my own new family member and life could not be better. Thank you.

Dear Shia, She is much better today! Big relief!!! And I can understand why you are scaried. I live in quite big town and in big compund of apartments. It seems like everybody has dog! It is ok but sometimes people go on walk with dog not on leash. And even with big, big and dangerous dogs... Ok - I know that my dog is really, really nice and she even bark like once in a week - BUT - sometimes she becomes crazy angry against some other dog. I can't say for sure that she will not attack other dog. She is very wise but she is also an animal - she has instinct. So I am always very carefull about walking her. And I think that some people are too stupid to have dog. It is not a toy. It is not a weapon. You have to be carefull about your ways with dogs. And some people are not...

For me, it is super great to treat pet as we treat our family. Well, in fact pet is part of our family, though. LOL. No, it is not strange at all to love animal. I also do love my pet. And if something bad happens upon my pet, I will always ask for some help. When you writing about dog, I remember information that dog is very sensitive pet, taking wrong action can result in losing it.

Sorry to hear that your dog is sick, I hope all works well with her recovery. I have 2 cats and love them very much. The biggest one is my best friend. We talk to them all the time just like family members and I could swear they understand what we are saying. It is not unusual to love a pet as much as you do. They are perfect companions who show you unconditional love in return. You can't get that from most humans.

Dear Nova, She is much, much better now!Thank you! And you are so right - pets love you so much, and their love is unconditional. I had some very bad experiences lately with people. I have lost my job in very unpleasant way - it is difficult to trust somebody again. But my pets? I trust them and I love them.

No, you are not crazy but the people that say you are are sad. I feel very sorry for people that have never known the love of an animal. I consider all my animal's my children. I also have three human children and they feel the same way about their animal's. I know that in these tough times money is tight so if I may make a suggestion? Is there a ASPCA near you? If there is they have a hospital and do not charge a lot. If not see if there is a shelter near you. They may be able to help you and there is a organization called Friend of Animals. They will give you the names of Vets that will help you. Good luck

That's so sad! I am so sorry your dog is sick. Mine have been sick before and vets do cost a lot of money. I maxed one of my credit cards out on surgery for one of my dogs! I love my dogs like they are my own children and my best friends. I have two dogs at the moment. They are very special to me and we have a strong bond. My boyfriend loves them very much as well. I don't think it's strange at all to love a pet. We've always had pets in my home since I was a young child, from dogs and turtles to rabbits, fish, and guinea pigs... And other types as well. I love all living creatures. I really hope your beloved dog is okay. I will be praying for her! Best wishes.

Hi Bethany, Thank you so much for your words! It was hard two days, but she is ok now. And I am so happy. Last time she had babesiosis. It was really, really dangerous. So I was also scaried abou this time. Luckily - it was probably some case of stomach flu. She likes food so much. Oh - the problem is... she is quite old. And I know that there will be time to say goodbye. I just hope - not soon.

my boy - saber
I feel like you do. i don't think an animal is just an animal. my dog is my baby! to me that is my child. i love him so much and spoil him. i know what you mean about the fear. money is tight these days but its not the cost. i would do anything for my baby. animals become part of the family. they take on a name and a spot. they can't be replaced by a new pet. they are all one of a kind just like my boy. there is only one Saber and thats my boy. i hope your dog will be okay and feels better real soon.

Hi krupik, well obviously I hope your dog isn't too sick and gets better but I should say straight off that I'm not an animal lover in general although a friend does have a dog I rather like but this is very unusual for me. However I do have two pet spiders indoors which do a wonderful job of catching mosquitoes and flying ants and I do worry about their safety a lot, especially the chance that an intruding geko might eat them. I check on their welfare each day and pass a greeting and hope that they don't walk away from their usual corner as I'd be quite upset if I stood on one my mistake.

We have three dogs and they are our babies. It will kill me when they go. I want to die before them. That is how much I love them. It is not strange to me to love them. After all they love you, never lie about you, forgive you, protect you, etc... They give you everything and ask for little.

Sorry to hear your dog is so sick, I hope it gets better. We treat our dog like family and love him to pieces. Do your friends have animals themselves or are they the sort of people that treat their animals like animals - ie. farm dogs etc. Maybe that is the reason they don't understand. Otherwise some people love animals more than others. No it's not strange at all.

So sorry to hear that. Hope that she'll get well soon. Don't worry too much. When the time comes for her to go back to God, we just have to let go. Change to another perspective. Would you rather want her to suffer in pain? I love my 2 dogs and treat them as my children. I used to share a plate of food with them but after I gave birth to my daughter,, due to hygienic reasons I have to stop. But nonetheless, I still love them very much. And I spend a lot of money on their grooming, and food and toys and vet visits too. It's really ok to treat them like family. Sometimes, they are even better listeners than human, don't you agree?

Pets are just fury people! My son said I'm the only person he knows who can be emotionally blackmailed by a cat. Mind you he has addmitted to spooning with our cat Bettyboo, when he's bin lonely!

My Daughter is a Boston terrier. She is 14 years old and I have had her since she was 8 months old. I got her as a stray when I was working at a veterinary hospital in Texas. She was found on the highway, wondering in and out of traffic. She stayed at the Vet. Hospital for 6 weeks while we tried to find her owner. After we could not find her "owners" I decided to take her in and it has been one of the best decisons I have ever made. She has filled my life with so much indescribable joy and happiness. I never thought that I would be the type of guy that would fall in love with a little dog, but I really have. So to answer the made question; "How much do you love your pet?" I would almost have to say too much!! And respond to Krupik, I am so sorry that your little one is Ill. Do you know if a diagnosis has been made in her condition? I haved worked in the veterinary field for 11 years and I have seen alot of sick animals, but I know that in never, ever hurts to be optimistic. As my statements above may show I do not think it is strange at all to love an animal. An animals love is truly unconditonal and so easy to accept. I think that I feel sorry for anyone that has never loved a pet, I think they are truly missing out on someting great in life...Maybe that is a little too far...I really hope that your dog gets better, and that your friends and family one day understand how great it is to love a pet.

I'm sorry your dog is sick. I'll ask St. Martin de Porres for his assistance. He always helps with my pets. No, it isn't at all odd to love animals. After all, they love us, & many even love their offspring, as humans do. When any creature God has entrusted to me to love & care for becomes ill or injured, I go all out to do my best to heal it. I once gave a cat mouth-to-mouth resuscitation (he was having a heart attack, & unfortunately, my efforts didn't help, but I tried!). If it is time for your beloved pet to go, the best thing you can do is show her all the love you can, & make her as comfortable as possible. You will see her again, someday, so yes, you will grieve when she departs, but the rejoining will be so joyful! Maggiepie "WHERE'S THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE?

I love my pets like I love my family and friends.pets give unconditional love.if I get a dog in the future,I wouldn't mind spending money if s/he gets sick.my opinion is,raising a child is much, much more expensive than taking care of a pet.I prefer having and taking care of a dog/cat over having a baby.

i love my dogs with all my heart. i took care of them since they're still a puppy, some of my pets are the puppies of my dog... i have 4 of them, one time my dog is lost and i cant find him for 3 days, i was worried because he was still 5 months old at that time and im scared that he will be taken from another person, i searched and searched but cant see him, i cried for 3 days, on the 4th day, while my mother passed by on a way to her friend's house, she feels that someone was jumping at her and following her at the back... so when she turned her head around, and there was my long lost doggy, safe but smelly... smell of garbage and weeds... it was rainy at that time and i was concerned where he stayed and what he eats... he lose some weight and when they get home, my dog was so excited and hungry... im happy he is back (that was years ago) but now he was gone and was in heaven now... i still cried when i remember him... but now i still have 4 dogs.. im happy and loved them, animals are friends too, they have hearts and even they dont talk they can feel u... sometimes when i go to school and the 4 them are watching me walk and after a meters away, i could hear them howl... i think they missed me... hehehe... i love dogs and i have 2 rabbits too... dont worry your dog will be ok, why dont you try herbal treatment???????

Same with me. We'll be much worried if there something bad happen with our dog. Our Labrador is like our baby brother to us. We treat him not like a pet but also a brother. When we see something unusual to him, we visit the doctor to check him out.

i think you just over react.....you should accept and learn that before getting or having pets you shld know that they will nah stay longer in ther life, like in dogs the commom life span they got just 10yrs....so if you want 2 have pet for long have a turtle ..yah rabbit is fine too..:)
