Hi, Baby Orchid!
Sorry to hear about your loss. I understand how you feel because I have lost mine before. It was stolen from my locker! It happened about 10 years ago... yeah, it was a long time ago, but I could still remember it. I was working in a hotel before and I left my wallet inside the locker, which was always locked, but there was a group of part timers who did these stealing activities. These girls would use a metal or something to break the padlocks. I knew who they were, but I could not prove!
You are right, it is better if they just took the money then the whole wallet itself. It was sooo troublesome because I have to make a police report just to get my new ID and I even have to pay a sum of money for the penalty.
Not to mention, the bank cards... Yep, quite a headache!! I have never recovered my old wallet.

I am so sorry to hear that.As for a Chinese too,I would like to give you some suggestion for preventing being stolen.
First, when you geting on a bus door, you should be very catious, because many thiefts utilize the cover of crowding people for stealing.
Second, for a girl or a person with bag in shoulder, when you shopping or wandering in the street, you should better keep the bag in fornt of you.Because,I saw many thieft will follow if you put something important thing on the back of you.
Third, don't put your cell phone on bag of your jean.It will make a favorable condition to lose it.
So,be carefull,as you are outside. With the ecnomic recession, there are more and more people join the rank of thieft.

I am so sorry that you have had your wallet stolen. I do hope that the thief takes the money and then dumps your wallet. Then the police get it and had it back to you. That would mean you would get all your cards back. I suggest a money belt might be helpful to you in the future. It is a hassle waiting for new cards. Once my dog chewed up my visa debit card. I went to the bank and asked for a new card. I got them to give me an envelope with money inside it. Good luck.

My wallet was never stolen but I often lost my wallet because I was sometimes careless, and often forget to put the thing that I brought in hand. Since then I started to use a chain wallet and it's work for me :D

[i]Hello babyorchi.Well i know how much tension it creates when you have lost your wallet, especially when you lost your all important cards and bank cards etc with it,Yes it doesnt mind if you loose your cash but the cards are important.
I think the person who has your wallet might return it to you in some day or two.Because he should return it as it is not going to be of any good to him as there is no cash.
Its really terrible of being your important things lost because then there are so many procedures to be done, i am really feeling sorry for you

That's terrible what happened to you. I never had my wallet lost or stolen before by a stranger. I am really careful with my wallet. I have once had a paper money bill fall out from my pocket. It was a small paper bill though. I have my wallet tied up to my belt strap on my pants so I don't lose it. lol.

I am sorry for the loss you suffered. It is really troublesome when you lost your ID card and bank card, especially when you do not remind the CARD NO. That really sucks.
My friends happened to the same situation as yours, but she is not being stolen, but is being rubbered. She lost the wallet with the cards twice this year. She got a long time to re-apply the ID. Within a week after she got the replenished ID, she got robbery again.
I always remind my friend that she should not put the ID card and the bank card together in case any accident. Well, it is quite unpredictable whatever you will meet. Just good luck and have a happy day.

babyorchid,
I am sorry to hear of your misfortune here.
In my years, I have a fair share of loosing my wallets with all the cards and ID in it. However, unlike your country, our bank cards are much easier to replace than yours. Also, if we report in time, any charges illegally charged will not be our responsibility and a replacement is immediate at the bank. Even when we do not have our personal ID as our banks will only need a copy of our police report and a documentation of our ID replacement.
As for our ID we only need 3 working days before we receive our new ones. Any usage of this loss ID will not be possible as it would have been invalidated by the authorities digitally.
I do not know if your country's banks will improve on their loss card handling and not inconvenient their clients unnecessarily in the future.

Hi, babyorchid.
That's terrible. I agree with you, the cash would not have mattered much. I would hate it if I lose any of my IDs. Even replacing a lost school ID is such a hassle. I have experienced having my wallet stolen from my knapsack several years ago. Luckily, I still do not have credit card, ATM card nor driver's license then. I lost my school ID though. I reported it to the school to be able to get a new ID. I had to comply with a number of requirements that actually took a lot of my time away from studying.
Take care.

hi babyorchid,
Sad to hear about this incident happened to you.
Have you make a police report for your case?
This incident never happened to me and I wish it never happened in my whole life.
I can understand your feelings, lost all your bank cards and IDs. They are all important documents and it takes time to re - process again.
But thing has happened,Just hope someone will be kind enough to return back your wallet to you one day.Money lost is not a big issue,as long as all your cards are intact, that's the good news.
Be strong !! Just hope the Magic Day will come soon !!
