It hasn't been a very easy match for United, as Stoke tried their best to keep it 0-0. United controlled the match, with Valencia missing the best chance of the first half. Scholes was elected the Man of the match, and indeed he was. Giggs had a strong impact after being sent in, serving the ball on a plate for Berbatov to score the first goal, while O'Shea scored the second goal from a free-kick taken by the same Giggs. Ben Foster didn't have much to do, but he was precise on some aerial balls. Overall, it was a good match and the three points went to Manchester, who caught up with Chelsea on top of the table.

Giggs made all the difference. Nani and Valencia wouldn't service Berba and Rooney throughout the first half. A huge relief I guess that Nani and Valencia have to play smarter.

I guess you're right... Nani and Valencia played OK, but in a game like this, when you have to pass through a packed defence like the one put up by Stoke today, you need to play more than just "OK".

Didn't watch this match either but I think Manchester United will have it hard this season. Not necessairly because they lost Ronaldo, but they also lost Tevez, etc. But so far they've managed to not embarass themselves...fair enough, but I have to say that a Chelsea year is on the rise again ;)

I wouldn't say Man Utd managed not to embarrass themselves - the loss against Burnley and the poor football played, let's say against Arsenal, are not reasons of pride for the team. However, they managed not to panic and to keep winning points, and the game kept on improving. As of Chelsea, I totally agree they look better than the past season, but the latest match (3-1 loss at Wigan) proves they are not flawless.
