Are you an orphan or not?

Me? Of course not. There are times, though, I've thought to myself, what if I never met my family? What if they've left me alone in an orphanage or on a stranger's doorstep? What could my life have been, how could I have lived? Would I have been the same person I am now in terms of the way I think and see life and treat other people? Would it have been easier when I'm alone? Honestly, I do know it would have been more difficult if I didn't have a family but I'm mighty sure I could have survived and fought through life without asking for help, enhancing lone survival skills. I might have succeeded and became a business mogul or have become a street thug. I can't say for sure. There wouldn't even be issues of family feuds specially when one would find a partner that the family does not like. No meddling in your life, no control freaks. Besides, it's only a matter of time that our family will leave us on our own. As it has been said, "We come into the world alone...we leave it pretty much the same way." So, how about you?
