Doctors March On Washington

Doctors Against Obamacare - Many doctors are against Obamacare. Here are some at a rally.

This coming week will be very interesting. It is being told that the AMA is onboard with Obamacare, but did you know that only about 17% of doctors are part of the AMA? Doesn't sound so intimidating now, does it? I think we can ALL agree that doctors know more about taking care of patients than anyone else, right? Does it raise anyone else's red flag that DOCTOR'S are against this plan? Not just specialists, but primary doctors as well. Regular doctors don't make that much as it is. Some of our doctors are interested in going. THEY don't make that much. But they are wanting to go to protest. Why? Because the 'healthcare' the government is pushing is WRONG! They don't like that their ability to provide quality care individually will be strangled. They don't get joy out of messing with insurance and government regulations. They get joy out of helping patients. No One goes into medicine unless they REALLY want to help people. The MillionMed March will be happening October 1 at Washington. I wonder how the White House will take it? Comments?

Actually nurses know more about taking care of patients. The ANA also came out in favor of Obama's health care reform, but just like the physicians the vast majority of nurses are not members of the ANA. From the nurses I talk to the majority of them are against the socialism of health care. Obama can call it what he wants but the bottom line is the plan is the foundation for moving this country toward Socialism.

Nurses contribute alot to paient care....but I would rather be diagnosed by an MD than an RN. But I agree. We ARE moving towards socialism.

Oh absolutely - RN cannot diagnose, it is out of their scope of practice. If you ever get one of those nurses who think they can diagnose - ask for a different nurse. But if you want to know how a patient is doing, reacting to treatment, etc... ask the nurse they are the ones who know.

It just so happens that the vast majority of doctors are in favor of a health care reform plan that includes a public option. Notice I didn't say "government run health care", I said public OPTION. Option means you have a choice of taking it OR NOT. Most doctors realize that patients are being hurt by the insurance companies and that a public option is necessary to keep them honest. Without something to compete with the insurers their premiums will just continue to go up more and more each year and will continue with their inhumane policies of dropping or refusing to cover people due to preexisting conditions or because they've become sick. None of the doctors I've talked to are for it. Granted, they are only primary docs or specialists that don't make scads of money, but they ARE DOCTORS....so I listen to their opinions. I agree that patients are being hurt by insurance companies. The healthcare plan that is out now does NOTHING to help the patient. It WILL put more people in jail...good hard-working folks who can't afford the 'tax' that is hidden in the bill OR the insurance. The government needs to fix what we already have, not buttt into something it has no business in. Put legislation into effect that would do something about the premiums and make it so doctors don't have to see more patients to keep up with the government's idea of how many should be treated. If they aren't careful, there will be many doctors that will stop practicing altogether. THEN where will we be?

The media will likely ignore it, as will the white house, or they will demonize the doctors who show up and possibly find some way to punish them for voicing their dissent.

You know what's disturbing? I haven't been able to find ONE THING about the march. If it happened, what happened.....ANYTHING! The docs I work with would have liked to go. Now i'm glad they didn't! They might have disappeared like the docs that voiced they were PLANNING on going!
