How Do They Always Know?

Is this a common occurance? You sit down to watch a movie, and 15 minutes before it ends, a member of the family calls about something important (my husband's mother is elderly, and not doing that well). Or if you are on the toilet the phone will ring, or if you and your partner are getting ready to make love, the phone will ring, and it'll be a relative (or an ex-spouse!!!! LOL) How do these people always know?

It always always occurs to me. I will be putting my slippers to go out and my sister will call over phone. I will sit for eating and bell will ring. I hate leaving the lunch plate and coming to eat later when it has become cold. Just then I will go upstairs iron lady or vegetable vendor will give bell and I have to come down again as claiming stairs is a problem to me due to severe knee pain.

Yes, it must be a common occurance if it happens to other people besides us!! In fact I am glad to hear it does happen to others. LOL I have always thought that the people who call at the most inconvenient time are psychic somehow and they just know when it is the worst time to call. It just happens too darn often for it to be just random chance!!

I am convinced that these people just have this sixth sense about you doing something important and just want to call you and bug you to ensure that you get rather annoyed. That, or they just really enjoy interrupting you at the worst possible moments. It seems like I'm always interrupted at the worst possible moments but I think I hide my annoyance well.

Oh my that is so true!!!!!!!! It happens to us all the time. My always calls from overseas as I am starting something important. My kids always have an emergency when we're ready to romance. Hubby's aunt has the ability of knowing when I'm ready to watch a movie I really have been looking for. Hubby's parents always decided to use the water when one of us is ready to take a shower, even when we think that they are asleep. Whatever it is, it always happens!!!!
I'm sorry I can't give you a reason why, but I just had to join my voice to yours: It happens!!!!!

I have gone through these ordeals that made me so wise to watch movies alone after 10 pm and not answering any calls at that time.
Asking my wife to attend the phone while I am in the bathroom and ask the caller to call back unless it so urgent like the sky is going to fall over.
I find the switching off the mobile and taking the receiver off the cradle when needing privacy works wonderfuly and makes you laugh at those pleople who are disappointed in failing to disturb you.

Okay, let me see . . . if there's 15 minutes left in the movie, I'll hit pause (thank God for Dish, DVR whatever it's called) and continue the movie after the call or record it to watch it later. If I'm in the bathroom, I guess I could take my cell phone with me but that just doesn't seem right (especially if it's the X, uuwwww) so I'll call back later. And if I'm ever blessed with a spouse again, I'm thinking nothing can interrupt the lovemaking. Phew! I'm a little uncomfortable now, lol. But you're right it does seem that friends, family and telemarketers (I added that one) call when it's most inconvenient.

That is so true that they always know. It never fails that my phone can be quiet for days and when I am watching a show, and haven't been in the tv for months, and the good part or the ending is coming up, it rings and is actually an important call. OR even worse one of the kids come to visit WITH the grandkids. Might as well forget the tv. And I am almost always trying to hurry from the toilet to the phone or even from having just gotten out of the shower. It is just like they all just happen to know.

I think they have a tracker and know where you are and what you are doing. When its time for something important to happen, they call. Just a theory.

For me, it's usually the phone being silent all day, but it starts ringing as soon as I step into the tub. This is only the case when I'm the only one in the house, of course.

That's happened many times here! I don't know. How do they know? With caller ID, sometimes I'll ignore the calls until after what we're doing is done but if it's a call that could be important (family member, doctor), I'll answer.

I think rellies have a 6th sense about this - it's just like I always seem to "know" when my uncle is out or on the phone to his girlfriend coz that's normally the times I call him lol.

...Hi danishcanadian, My sister did that yesterday, in fact what she told me was something I wanted to know about after she told me, and then my movie had to wait so I will have to see if I can find it again in the future, to see the whole thing at one time. Bummer, but this is life, I guess the best thing would be to let the answering system take it and check it later, but then will you be sorry you didn't answer it. Decisions, decisions :o). Making love? No decision! Take care.
