Yesterday, typhoon "Ondoy" made every lives of the Filipino miserable!
It made my day wretched. My parents got stranded in Batangas due to the weather. They did not have a chance but to rent a nearby motel to spend the night on. A friend of mine got stranded in a street somewhere in Manila because of the inhumane flood where no one can pass. I got kind of guilty and helpless with the situation. I just hope he's fine and safe now. He has not sent me any SMS since last night. My sister was about to open her showroom but it got canceled due to the disastrous event. For my part, i was about to sign a contract for my upcoming first job but because of the weather and impassable streets, it was rescheduled on Monday. My youngest sister however, luckily made it home by 6 in the evening. We are very thankful that she did not get stranded out there cause she also forgot to bring her cellphone with her. So there was no other way to contact her.
Fortunately, none of my loved ones got hurt and our home was not entered by flood. Except for the parking area where our pond was also located though. We have to catch the fishes since it can go through the holes of the gate. Luckily, out of 8 kois, we have managed to save 5 of them. Two died and one escaped.
46 Filipinos died because of this tragedy. Here's a link to the news: http://ph.news.yahoo.com/gma/20090926/tph-46-confirmed-dead-in-floods-caused-b-d6cd5cf.html Hope nothing could happen to us again.
How bout you guys? Did you have the same experience as this one? It's a Disaster!

hello koala,
Before anything else, i would like to congratulate you for passing your recent interview. am glad none of your love ones got hurt there and even found a hotel to check in. unlike my eldest brother whom i think got stuck in his car the whole night of that terrible rain. well, it's a lesson that we should be now disciplined in throwing trash and taking care of nature. you were lucky enough to get some fish

Thanks LK. Am i really glad that no one got hurt. How about in your area? Did flood came into your house? One of my aunt told us that the flood inside their house was almost a knee-high. And they have to eat their meals on the stairs. Luckily, no one got hurt.
By the way, is your brother home already?
I am not guilty of throwing garbage on streets since i believe in the saying that if you threw your garbage anywhere, it will go back to you. *HA HA! I am not sure of my English.* Pretty simple message but it conveys a lot of meaning.

Hi. I'm actually perfectly fine but I really pity a friend of mine who really went through a rough experience. The flood reached the second level of their home. My mom's friend was worse, their whole house, 2-storey, was all underwater.
There's really problem though with networks during the disaster.
Anyway as for me, I'm going to do volunteer work at school. My family and I are perfectly fine. We're unaffected by the typhoon.
Ondoy/Ketsana now enters Vietnam and killed 23 people..
All of us better keep safe. The most unexpected things happen.
Glad you're okay! Let's just help out and donate.

Oh yeah, I'm from Commonwealth, Quezon City if you're wondering where I'm from cause we didn't get flooded.. But outside it was bad, I heard, at the highway. People and my friend had to stay in their car along the road..

Hi dear!
I have also read the news in the newspaper and I felt sorry for the happenings. You see sometimes we become helpless when natural calamities struck like this. Hopefully, people will recover soon from the shock of unprecedented floods. Our best wishes are with all of you.

this is very tragic. I hope it will not happen again. Very traumatic scene from our Kababayan living in Marikina and QC. i can humbly say that we can never win against the fight of Nature. This is the consequences of negligence. I was not be able to go home last Saturday because everyone was stranded. There was no possible route because all the streets have large flood. my family got affected too. it is now declared as State of calamity here in Metro Manila.

In our area in Cavite there were rainfalls and winds but not that strong. There were flooded streets in Bacoor area but not in our place in DasmariƱas, thank God. I sympathize with the most affected families in Marikina area and Rizal. It's too sad to see on the news that only the roof of their houses were noticeable and many lost their properties not only to damage due to floods but also to robbers.
