how do you eat your oreo?

When I was a kid I would dunk them in milk and my fingers would get cold from the milk. One day I was eating oreos with my Grandpa and he got a fork out of the drawer and put the prongs in the icing and used the fork to dunk the oreo! I loved this solution and now I do that, not just because my fingers would get cold, but because it's such a fun way to eat an oreo! How do you eat oreos? Do you HAVE to have milk or is it optional? Do you have a favorite kind of oreo?

I am pretty flat out boring when it comes to Oreo's. We didn't have them a lot in my house growing up. We had more of those vanilla type sandwich cookies. Even so, with Oreo's, I ate them in 2 or 3 bites. No opening, no dunking - just eating them straight. Milk would be optional - but water for sure! See, wasn't that boring? Now that I have my own family, we still don't eat Oreo's, but we do occasionally get the Trader Joe's one . . . called Joe-Joes. I am still the vanilla person and get the vanilla cookie ones . . . but my daugther likes either . . . even the Oreo like ones that are peanut butter filled ones. And she eats it by opening it up, eating the cream, and then the 2 cookies. She is a dunker, just like her daddy. Mommy, on the other hand, is quite boring when it comes to sandwich cookie eating, so she continues to eat it straight just like she did when she was a girl!

That's not boring, it's just different. I too like to eat lots of things plain, but my oreos have to be dunked, lol. I have tried Joe-Joes recently and they were ok, but nothing can replace good ol' oreos. I have tried the mint oreos and the vanilla oreos and they are all good, but like i said, nothing can replace good ol' oreos! Thanks for sharing

Have you tried the candy cane Joe-Joe's that they have during the holidays? There are little bits of candy cane in the cream . . . soooo good. I imagine there are Oreo's like that too . . . since there are more flavors now?!

Wow, candycane Joejoes sound amazing! I don't live in the US anymore, so I'll have to remember that if I visit in the winter! sounds like something oreo would have come up with, but I don't remember ever seeing them. mmmm sounds wonderful!

I can't drink milk because it makes me sick so I just eat the cookies by themselves. I try to eat them together without taking them apart, but it just isn't as fun. I like to take them apart and eat the side with the less amount of filling on it, then I eat the other side =) Yummy, now I can't wait to get the Halloween oreos with the orange filling!! haha I love the different colors that they use for the different holidays!

I'm sorry about the milk... I bet soy milk just doesn't do the trick with cookies... though I do sometimes use soy milk on my cereal. Are you lactose intollerant? My brother is and he has found real milk that has the lactaid taken out of it so it can be digested easier. It's more expensive, but if you love milk, like we do, it can make life a lot nicer for someone who can't drink regular milk... ...ok, stay on topic. I like the fact that you try to eat cookies whole, it just shows a sense of responsibility or something, but I love the fact that you give in to your inner child and eat them side by side! The Halloween ones and the green and red Christmas ones are really fun... just don't eat them right before a first date, lol or you teeth might scare the guy away, haha. Thanks for the post!

Milk for me is optional. I like eating them with milk occasionally but I really enjoy eating the tops to two cookies, smushing the cookies together and then eating it that way. It's like a doublestuff but it's better! Sometimes I'll eat them that way with milk too.

haha, i used to do that when I was a kid... scrape the filling of one cookie into the middle of another and then make a really fat oreo! Sometimes I would do that with the three or four I was eating and make a monstrous oreo. Good times, I kinda forgot about that. thanks for the memory refresher!

This is a good discussion, and I am sure that a lot of people like oreos have different ways that they like to enjoy them, and when I was a kid I used to love to eat or oreos and I would always eat the cream first and then eat the chocolate, and I would sometimes dip them in milk but not all the time, and when I got older I would still eat oreos from time to time but I would usually just eat them without pulling them apart or without milk and now me and my wife do not eat oreos, because we both have really sensitive teeth, that and I found out I am allergic to chocolate so I try to avoid it whenever I can even though I think it would just make me sneeze a lot,but I am not completely sure so I do not want to take any chances, have a great day, good luck with your life, and all of your mylotting goals, and Happy Posting.

I eat Oreos by placing it in my mouth, taking a drink of milk, waiting a few seconds, then swallowing the milk and chewing up the now soft cookie Or, if I'm feeling particularly experimental, I will scoop out the filling and microwave it to create a delcious fondant of creamy oreo gloop
