do u know of people who are camera shy?

there are people who shy away from cameras and picture-takings while there are those who are always there in every group photo session and just love to have their pictures taken. i know of people who belong to both types. is shying away from picture-takings or from the camera also means that the person is shy himself? what do u think?

Hi there, I was camera shy before when I was in grade school. Now I don't shy away from the cameras especially that we have the digital ones. The reason? I could always delete the photos which I think I am not photogenic LOL.
Anyways, I have known people who are camea shy but they like taking pictures of everybody with their cameras.
Everytime there's a group picture they either are in the picture or not but somehow if they are in the picture they are at the back or not facing the camera. And when you try to get candid shots they are quick to cover their faces or you only get the back.

that is true. i do that, too. i choose pictures that i look good and delete the ones that i don't come out pretty, hahahaha. i hope they invent digicams that automatically deletes MY ugly pictures, hahahaha (camera says: hmmm, why me? maybe an ugly subject, huh?)

i am like u at times. it is so unnatural having to pose for a photo on purpose. am i just being aware that others are looking at me? lol

each one is unique. that is how it is with u and people should respect u for that. not everyone likes to pose for a photo while others love it!

Not necessaarily. People are camera shy for different reasons. Personally, I am camera shy because I don't want to see how I would look on photos and videos. I guess this is a matter of lacking self-confidence. This is why I always volunteer to take pictures whenever there is a function or social event such as birthday parties, weddings and the like. My kids are the same now that they are older. When they were younger (about 2-5 years old), they would just pose uninhibitedly in front of the camera, smile, make faces - all just so natural. I wish we all could be the same. At the moment, my husband gets impatient with us as we don't like to have our pictures taken. If he trains the video camera on us, we all will run away like scared rabbits.

i love being a child again! children are care-free, haveno pretensions and inhibitions. when we get older we worry about anything, hahaha, and i am one of them. i just feel so unnatural with the camera and videocams trained on me, too.
