Which french fries do you like the most, McDonald's, Wendy's or other?

Personally, I hate McDonald's French fries, especially since the crew shoves even the smallest, slightly burned bits in the carton pouch. I know that it may be the way McDonald's cuts the potatoes, but can't they do something about it? Burger King's are slightly better, still a little too overdone, but will pass with me. I think Wendy's makes good fries, because they are often plump and soft. But the best French fries to me are really Church's Chicken, because they're fat, twirled, and really yummy. Do you agree? And speaking of French fries, my French teacher told me there's no such thing as French fries. Such term, he insists is actually an invention of the Americans, hence there is really nothing French about French fries. My gosh! Any thoughts on this?

For me, my favourite fries would be either KFC or Wendy's fries. Though these are my favouries, I still enjoy fries from other places.

Hi, richiemogwai. I like Wendy's french fries better. McDonald's fries seem to smell so good, but it is usually hard as a rock... My husband enjoys eating them. At times, they can be very mildly soft but that is when I get lucky enough to get the fresh batch. I don't think that your french teacher knows what he is talking about. He is a French teacher and you mean to tell me that he does not think that french fries is an invention of French?? He taught this subject and he should of all people know all about this.

I like McDonald's french fries. I like the way they cook it. Although, I go to the most usual branch I'm used to. It's very delicious actually. On the french fries term, it really doesn't matter. What matters is they invented a name which is know very known to all.

All these fast food things fall short of the real thing that you want in some way.
Its based on the cost of everything because all they are interested in is profit.
Buy some steak fries in the supermarket and take them home and fry them and enjoy yourself.

I simply love the fries I get from deli's and sub shops, they seem to be cooked to perfection! McDonalds and Wendy's are passable for me but not my preferred fries.
As for the french thing, it is completely true. There is nothing french about french fries. Also, the way we make "pizza" over here is completely different than what Italians consider pizza. Americans tend to make up a lot of stuff as they go along and just throw together a catchy name to help sales.

I think I like wendy's french fries better because I think they are more crispy compared to mcdonalds which are usually soft because of the amount of oil they put in them. I find that mcdonalds have more flavour though.

Hi, richie
I do not like McDonald's regular fries but I love their Twister Fries. It's not available the whole year round here in our place, though. I also like Kentucky Fried Chicken's fries. Other than McDonald's and KFC's, I also like some of our local restaurants' french fries.
And oh yeah. I can't recall why it's called french fries but, yes, it was the Americans who named it as such.
Take care!

I can only compare Wendy's, McD and KFC. The best is Wendy's. It is crunchy and tasty. McD is next. KFC is last. KFC is too soggy while McD tends to be on the salty side. Anyway, all fries are bad!

I really love the French Fries of Taters! I especially like the sour cream and the barbecue flavors, added with a sour cream dip :) McDonald's tends to overcook or undercook their fries at times, and it plain sucks when it does. At times, they put too much salt too.
I've heard that fries are totally unhealthy. A potato actually contains the same sugar content as a whole pack of sugar. Add it with a half cup to 3/4 cup of cooking oil, hello heart attack. 1 bag of sugar and all that oil (plus the salt) in one sitting. Eh, but still, it doesn't stop people from eating them (including me ahahaha).
