NaNoWriMo Writers?

United States

Are there any NaNoWriMo writers out there? I'm very excited for the new season to begin! If you're nt familiar, NaNoWriMo = National Novel Writing Month. It's a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it to all writers! Have you ever wanted to write a book, but always been scared away from the big ominous thought of the time-consuming bulky process of actually writing one? Well this is your chance to shed all of that! During the month of November each year, writers get together to tackle a book. You write 2000 words a day all month, and come out with a 50,000 word novel! It's about 150 pages long! The greatest thing about it is you're not challenged to write a "perfect" piece. The challenge is to get those words on paper, even if it comes out a silly pile of nonsense where characters do crazy things just to keep the plot going!! There's usually a community already formed in your area, I was surprised when I found out how many there were! Total strangers get together at coffee shops around the globe and write write write!! Get started with your account at www.nanowrimo.org It's free, noncommittal, they're not selling anything, not asking for anything, and you feel wonderfully satisfied coming out with a book. They even bind it for you at the end, with your choice of original cover art, free of charge! Hope to see you there this November =)

Yes! I love NaNoWriMo! I have already signed up for this year and have quite a few ideas for my novel. I'm so excited! This is the first time I've done this.

yeah. i have been there, and done that. and i finally wrote my first novel and self-published it myself due to spiritual inspiration. it went faster than i thought. i just worked on it a little each day until i finished. and i finished it within a year, did a lot of editing, drawing the cover, and seeking online self publishing site within 2 years, and then i just downloaded. is there any group on working on a graphic novel? drawing a graphic novel is more headache and work than writing a novel.

Yes, I'm doing nano! This year I have no plot. That's an issue but I have a month. This year I have arranged it so that I have a strong typer working for me each day. That always held me up before, you see I have mobility impairment and tend to write via dictation through my personal care assistants (people who help me do basic thing like use the bathroom, do my laundry, make food, clean dishes, and so on.

I have always wanted to join but I felt scared. I am very ashamed of my non-existent and really inferior writing skills. However, I'm feeling really determined to join this time. However, since the semester's ending here in our country, so much requirements are needed to be passed. I wonder if I can join. Regardless, a friend of mine will be publishing his own book. I am the layout artist. I'm channeling all my writing frustration to designing since I'm really good at it. I can also feel the glory since I can see my name in print. Back to the topic, whether writing for NaNoWriMo will be successful (in terms of quality) or not, I will be very determined to finish a novel no matter what. Cheers for the heads up!
