the storm is not that strong enough because it was only designated a signal number 2 category by the PAGASA (no strong winds) but it brought much rain, it rained in only about 6 hours (not days) but a record rainfall that made terrible flooding. because of the signal no. 2 categorization, people thought it's just a typical tropical depression storm and so they didn't anticipated that a strong typhoon. but the huge flood came...
thanks for posting the red cross site.

The water brought about by a total of 12 hour rain - slight at times otherwise robust - equate to a month's measure of rainfall.
It is good to know that people are doing their part. If not in material things, but in prayer.
God allows this to happen to make us go back to treasuring the intangible things no calamity can take away. Faith. Hope. Relationships. Education. Values.

The problem to some celebrities and some people who donated money why they need to announce the amount. I don't have money to donate because I also need money for my medication. Many private companies, NGO and many generous people donate food, money and clothing in the time of calamities many tried to help in their own little way.

My mom wants me to bring out the boxes of old clothes that we have kept aside cause we no longer use them. She wants me to sort it out and donate all that can be useful for those who has lost their homes and possessions.
Thanks for the link. It will make it easier for me to find where to drop off the items of clothing.

I think for our foreigner friends it is a big help if you donate as little as 1 dollar it will help a lot but prayers will do. as for Filipinos here in the Philippines if you have a free time it's better to volunteer just make sure you coordinate to the proper authorities, you don't wanna be an added problem. I only have one issue, why is that a lot people don't make anonymous donations instead of publicly announcing their names?

yes you are right, like I said those who are in the Philippines can donate money, food, clothing, time. as for me my programming skills and time is what I used. and their 1 dollar when converted to peso is bigger so it will really be quit a help to us in here.

Thank you for posting the site! I've been looking for the website. At least, I can now add to my post in my facebook about the circulating picture of the RC having donations through SMS. Thanks again!

I'm always proud to be a Filipino...
I'm living in Mindanao, to be exact, here in Valencia City (Bukidnon Province in Southern region of Philippines), but the news is all over our place. For the past 3-6 months this happened near our province, but on the Northern part of our region.
The simplest we can give Help is Prayer...
But there are lots of companies based on major Foundations vis. a vis, and for one moment we shown the world that we can work hand in hand to HELP...
PLEASE, in one way or the other, Help the victims in cash or in kind...
And May God Bless Us All, Always...

This is really very tragic. . . We may not be much affected by the typhoon as we live in the Visayas area but still we feel so sad about what happened.
I hope that those who have enough financial resources will help those have been affected. There are many who don't have food, clothing, shelter and medicine. I wish I could help but I also am in dire need of financial resources now.
All I can do is to help pray that no more tragedies will happen to us Filipinos.

I've heard of the news on TV many times. I would love to help them in any way but I don't know how to help them. The best thing I can do right now is to pray for them.
