I was wondering what youre favorite show was that you have to watch every week just to keep up with all that is going on so that you can talk about it with youre friend or loved one.I do know that me and my son like the cop shows and we actually talk about them.

I can't say there is any show that I just "have to watch" because I'm not a big tv watcher. However, I do like shows such as Criminal Minds, Law and Order, CSI and Without a Trace. My daughters also enjoy these shows very much so we sometimes watch together, when we can, or we discuss them at other times. My older daughter wants to be a Forensic Anthropologist and enjoys the show Bones. I've only watched it with her once but I will probably pay more attention when I can so we can discuss that one too :) Which cop shows do you and your son like?

Oh, I hope you like Criminal Minds! I really enjoy it when I get to see it. I'm not a big fan of "blood and gore" entertainment - either on tv or in movies. I really like the suspense and criminal profiling that goes on in shows like that. I find it a lot more intriguing (and, admittedly, less gross LOL)

My favorite show is Smallville on CW. I enjoy all the characters and actors. It is a thriller and keeps guessing about what the future episodes will be like. It is not like your regular tv shows such as CSI and without a trace. I would like for them to bring back some of the actors who have left the show.

The two shows I have to see every week are "big bang theory" and "the biggest loser" after that I dont think there is anything that I am totally addicted to but that is my time in front of the tv.. the only time really during the whole week and hubby and I get that time to finally sit and relax and forget about all the stress in our lives!!
Happy mylotting!!

Psychologists claim that people have individual differences and preferences... that we do things and react according to how we see any given situation. To this point we almost need an entire volume to list all the factors involved - but we won't go there. The discussion is narrowed down to which television shows we prefer and why. . .
That said, I must hasten to add that television is indeed a powerful medium. Sadly, it is a medium more misused than used for better purposes. As a babysitter - so that Mom can do some ironing (baby is installed in front of the tube to be amused) - television restricts and stifles the development of the human imagination. For example, the viewer is shown a dog - not a representation of a dog but perhaps a Dalmatian. Chances are, if the viewer never again watches another show that shows other kinds of dogs, in the viewer's mind, dogs will always have black spots on their white coats. Compared to reading the written word where the imagination is tasked with forming the mental imagery, television is a poor purveyor of information.
Television is also used for mass indoctrination. Since TV sets no longer cost an arm and a leg television sets adorn every room, nook and cranny of the house. One cannot escape it. It is left on in the bedroom, it is left on in the kitchen, it is left on in the shower stall, it is left on in the nursery. It is the one intruder in our homes that has changed our very life style.
I don't watch much television - if at all. Reality shows, sitcoms and soap operas are for addled minds. I find shows like "The View," for example, insulting to my intelligence. As far as news is concerned, I get my news from the Internet. I aggressively try not to watch television shows specially now that television and media in general are part of the government media complex.
