We got him from the local animal shelter. We had only 3 cats since Arthur got his wings and really needed a boy, as the three are all girls. So Eli came. His shelter name was Klondike, but he is now Eli.
He is very big, white, gold-eyed and six-toed. He is very very laid back and sweet and purry. I am in love. He goes for his check up and tests tomorrow. I hope he is as good with the vet as he is here.

Yay for the new edition to the family. Cats are always such a nice thing to have around the house. Especially when there as purry and cuddly as the one you have just got. I remember when I got my last cat tux. He would run around really fast for awhile then go to sleep on the spot for about 30 minutes, then he would repeat. These days for some strange reason he just fetches sponges that we leave out on the lawn. At 3am you can hear him meowing with a sponge in his mouth.

Congratulation Eli sounds adorable. Sounds like a really sweety too. I am sure he will be good at the vet although he might be a little scared.
We will be adopting a puppy in January from the shelter if they have any puppies if not we will wait for a puppy. The kids can't wait. We are waiting because we plan to go on a trip in January and it will be easier to go if we don't have to worrry about someone watching the puppy. So after we get back we will get our puppy.

I think that's great, I wish more people would adopt from the pound. That's where my three animals came from, I think they make better pets. They're more loving and they have great character. I hope you have as great a relationship with Eli as I've had with my two dogs and my cat.

[b]Awww..he sounds purrfect. I've had poly-dactyl kitties, & they're so sweet. I think they must have big hearts to match the big feet! I'd be in love, too. I know exactly how that is.
Here's to a long & happy relationship! clink!

Congratulations on your new addition! He sounds absolutely beautiful! What a good thing getting him from the shelter, there are so many cats that need good homes. I would love a white cat; I have an all black one and a little tortoiseshell. My next cat will probably be white...Enjoy your new boy! Post a picture sometime, I would love to see him!

Hello mcat, that is such a great feeling for you.I got a good number of pets in my house but all are different and can say all hate each other.I got a german sheperd at home who just hates my cat a lot.I have got my cate which hates the whole gold fish aquarium becase she cant eat them.
But my cat is very very boring and lazy, she just runs off outside the house whole day comes inside whenever she feels like with dirty feet.
She was very much mannered before and never didi these things at all but since few days she is going mad.

Awww, he sounds lovely! I just got a new cat too. Her name is Poppy and i got her from a family who were having to move somewhere where pets are not allowed. They were understandably upset to let her go, but I promised to give her a good home. She is black and white with beautiful light green eyes and is 18 months old.
She was quite nervous to begin with but now seems very at home, telling me when she is hungry and sleeping all night at the end of my bed :)
She is adoreable, so sweet natured and very playful. I think my boyfriend is a bit jealous of all the attention i am giving her, but I did find them curled up asleep together on the sofa when i got home from work yesterday lol.

I've got a roommate Helen and she likes cats so much.
Up to now, Helen have 3 cats since she was a little girl. The first cat is kept by her grandmother when Helen's only 4 years old.Of course at that time she didn't know how to take care the cat.But she remember that the cats always follow her everytime she went out to play with other kid.
The second cat was kept by Helen herself when she went to the elementary school. Everytime she went back from school, the cat will come to her and touched her.ALso ,the cat is so strong that, everyday, when the cat take a snap at noon, the cat of helen's neighbour will also come to helen's home. But when the two cats take snap, helen's cat always sleep on the sofa, and the other on the ground. If the other cat also came the sofa, helen's cat will push it down to the ground, and being aggrasive and violent! Smart cat ha!
But the first and the second cat were sent to the urban area because some reason.
The third cat is the cat helen's no keep. I think it's a beautiful cat with white fur.Helen has such a deep relationship with cats,so her behavior sometimes are inflenced by cat, when she's so thankful to you,she will touch your arm by her face, and her nickname is "big cat".

he sounds absolutely gorgeous, and 6 toes, i bet the girls will keep him on all 24 of his toes. i still have my 4 cats, my 5th cat, like your arthur, got her wings last year. i still miss her, but my 4 babies and my dog keep me occupied. but like you , when i do decide to get another pet , i will definitely be going to our local animal shelter. The company i work for, likes to support local charities. so we have been supporting a rescue shelter a few miles away. we took it in turns to go down there, we did some gardening, decorated the visitors room and even better took the dogs out. my best memory is of a great big alsation dragging me round the field, but he was as gentle as a lamb, and a little 3 legged dog who was full of beans and hurtled round with me in hot pursuit. There was a big run for the cats with the separate pens at the back, and it broke my heart to leave them all behind.
but i hope your big white and gold boy brings you tons of pleasure and lots of love. i hope to see some pictures of him and your girls quite soon.
