it really all depends on what your mate likes in a phone. I really don't know all tat much about other phones, as I only know abbout the one I have and that is an LG enVTouch, with a touch screen, and a qwerty keyboard, which is very good for texting, if that is what he or she wants to do. Mine also has the internet on it, and it is 3G, and it does go pretty fast. I liek it for that part alone. It has lots of features on it, like youtube, myspace, facebook, twetter and photobucket, among other features. it has all the bells and whistles more or less. I have heard that iphones are good too, but I have never had one, but I do know they have lots of apps on them, so your mate might think about that one too. Take care, and happy mylotting.
