September 26, 2009 is one of the most unfortunate day for the Philippines. Tropical storm Ondoy ravished Luzon. It was such an unfateful day for the unsuspected Filipinos. It would not stop raining that day. All the major streets were already flooded. Quezon City, Makati, Manila, Pasig and Marikina. This includes provinces such as Pangasinan, Bulacan, Cavite and Rizal. My family and I were situated far from the listed cities and were watching the television for updates. We watched helplessly to see how our fellowmen who from suffered the calamity. We cannot help but pray for those trapped inside their houses. Some were already on the rooftop waiting for rescue. And some were already swept away by the strong current that struck Marikina, San Mateo, Pasig and Pangasinan. I almost cried to see a footage of people roughly around 10 or more on top of what seems to be a raft. It was swept away beneath a bridge. People on top of the bridge threw ropes to rescue them however the current was so strong nobody was able to grasp it. The following day a six year old girl and a teenager was found dead underneath that bridge. Rescue and retrival began. The Philippines is now grieving for its lost and is trying to help each other out. Many institution has began donating relief goods to the affected area. I want to help out. So my family and I donated took out our old clothes and blankets to donate. Some donated money and kind. Some even volunteered for repackaging the goods and offered their vechiles for deliviries. I wish we could do more but this is the only thing we can offer. If you were to experience this what would you do to help out?

feel bad to hear that though im lucky coz the floods didnt reached our place. it was my first time to experience that kind of floods since i was born and im already 32 huh hehehe. anyway, we cant control it coz its been a month now that theres haivy rain and 6 dams needed to released the water or it will collapse which is more dangerous. too bad coz a lot of other people from other country thinking that filipino are too sinner thats why it happened to us.. well, whose not sinner here in this world? raise your hand if your clean... i read a lot of posting through facebook from korea(sorry to say that but i guess it just happened that we read it from korean national) and other filipino whose now living in other country.. then, all i can say, if its mother natures call no one can control it. just happened that we have lots of water dams here in our area to have clean and fresh water for the people. and lastly, no one on this earth are non sinner. perhaps those newly born child. so if theres anyone disagree then face to the mirror and ask yourself. perhaps theres something that you missed out.

I am really sorry to hear about this. I cannot even look at the footages on TV because I feel so bad for all those who suffered or are still suffering from this calamity. I would offer some old clothes and food (dry and canned goods). I, to am far way from there and there is no way I can send these things in time. Money is a problem because I am not sure that it will go to the victims and not to the pockets of politicians. Philippine politicans are notorious enough for pocketing donations for themselves instead of providing relief to the victims. If I were to give money, I would probably give it to an NGO or the Red Cross.

I am from Philippines but fortunate enough because I'm not a victim Tropical storm Ondoy but I sympathizes to those who have been affected by the tropical storm. I've heard it from the news last Saturday night. I always give a share even for a little amount in case of Calamities. Last January, we also been affected by the tropical storm. Cagayan de Oro also suffer for the same calamities in Luzon. Our family share some groceries and clothes for those affected area.
