hey if i went down the street with my underoos over my tights, i would probably be section 8'd ha ha ha. it would be worth it to see the looks on people's faces. but canadians are so polite they would probably pretend that it is not happening.

Superheroes have many things that should make us wonder. I also ask myself: do they have another set of superhero clothes? with all the work and the flying they must STINK!!!And see, they have their superhero clothes UNDER the normal ones. At least that´s what superman had (I´m afraid I´m a little out of date with spiderman. My only relation to him is to get a spiderman costume for my grandson).
There´s only worries in life and thoughts to keep us awake

Because otherwise no one would recognise them. Could you imagine an electrician or business man flying through downtown new york? It would just be like, "ok who is he?" So my guess is they wear those colourful slightly, embarrassing, respect demanding underoos because of the people wanting to know who the super hero is. O and so the police don't shoot the good guy.

nah i don't buy it. the mask i sorta get although come on if you really think about it, it then means that all superheroes have jedi powers and can do the jedi mind trick to that you do not recognize them

Wow, that's weird. But looking back, they do, don't they? In reality it would be exponentially more difficult to dress in a hurry with the tights underneath...but then again maybe the tights are a permanent fixture. (That would support the stinky comment made earlier). I did some research online to find more information. Comic books were first created in the early 1930's. Superman was termed the 'man of steel', given super strength, and designed to resemble the traditional circus strong-man. Strong men would often wear a one-piece jumper or short with tights underneath. This led the way for future popular superheroes and their outfits.
