I am a linux programmer, but in the spare time i use windows on my computer like most of my friends. Linux is more safe and stable than windows, but for common people, especially those who are not software programer, they prefer windows to Linux. what about you?

I've been using linux for almost 3 years now. I'm so happy with it. It's not prone to virus so i don't have to worry that much compared when I'm using windows.

yes, considering this aspect, linux is better, but linux distribution especially for desktop is not very easy to operate, and the software is less than windows.

Yes, linux is indeed more secure and more stable. But I use windows, because of its compatibility is very good. Operations more simple than linux. Suitable for operation of the general population. To be honest, I have not used linux

I like Linux way better than windows. I have both on my laptop only because I go to school online and need windows to run programs and things. I like it, because it doesn't have viruses or it doesn't crash as easy. Also it seems to be easier to use than Vista. I'm just start to learn how to Linux and I'm enjoying it a lot.

I am a linux user. I have tried fedora, mandriva and Damn Small Linux. I am currently using Ubuntu Linux. I use linux as my default OS. But dual boot with windows just to play games on windows. Windows has a greater game playing compatibility than linux.

Windows proprietary, so I would never use it. I don't have the 4 freedoms I should have: http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-sw.html It's unethical to release Windows like this. That's the main reason I use Linux. Also because it's secure, stable, has a good community, and it's great for programming.
