We live in a world where every move we make involves money. No wonder why most people spend their whole lives looking for money. I should have asked the question will penniless people still survive in today's world, but the thing is in fact they do. But I wonder if they too experience happiness. If they, they how do they manage?
If happiness is elusive to people with money, how much more with those who are less fortunate?
Any idea?

When I was younger, one of my greatest fear is to lose everything I have. But now that I lost it, I didn't feel any difference. I thought that I would be unhappy when i lose all the money. But now I learned to become appreciative of every little things I have.

Doubt it. money here, money there, money freaking anywhere.
well, i guess it also depends on what perspective at happiness you take, after all, what you may need to be happy may be more than twice enough to make the next one happy.
but even so, someone without a dime to go beyond basic survival? i don't think i could live too happily like so.

Yes, happiness can be relative and depending on the person's perspective. Even the hermits have their own understanding of satisfaction and happiness or completely detached from every human emotion.
No matter how philosophical we look at the case, money is money, after I type this I have to eat, and what if there is nothing to eat. It is difficult to be philosophical on an empty stomach.
It is true, that money is not everything but it is equally true that without money, we are nothing.
cheers.

Hey,
Well I don't really know if their is a way a penniless person can be happy nowadays, I have no idea really. But I think that most people can't really live life to the full these days, because they have no money. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

Considering today's economic realities, it really is impossible for a penniless person to be happy. Maybe for a moment or two when contemplating and being thankful that he is still alive and that there is still hope but sooner or later he is going to eat then depression will again set in when there is no food in the table.
Happy lotting too!
