I know some people who collect books and they prefer the hardbound editions. in my case, i collect paper backs because they are cheaper and lighter, so that i can bring them anywhere and read them while i am waiting in line or something. what about you?

I dont collect books. I used to collect many books, and I had a hard time packing and shifting to new home.
That was the time when I got rid of many books. It's a difficult decision to keep some books and sell away the books.
I still read a lot, and I prefer reading paperback than hardcover book. Paperback is easier to read when I'm outdoor

Hi there A Late Cable Bill!
Well, if I really love the book, and I would love to include it in my collection and if I want it to really last, I would choose a hardbound one. However, since I do not have much money for books, unless they're on sale, I buy paperbacks more often because they are much more affordable.

I don't collect books, I'm just an avid reader...although there are a few books I enjoyed so much that I plan on keeping them. But usually I just resell/donate/or trade other books I've finished.
While your reasoning behind getting paperbacks makes sense, I prefer hardcovers. It's just easier for me to read them; easier to hold up, balance with one hand...sometimes I read when I'm laying down and hardbacks make it easier.
I do have SOME paperbacks, but usually only because they aren't available in hardbacks and I really want the story! lol
