Is Obama acting on his own ideas, or is he a puppet?

For those who don't agree with Obama's policies:
Do you feel he is acting on his own, coming up with his own ideas, or is he just a puppet? Is someone pulling his strings, or does he really want Socialism?
I think Pelosi is back there trying to control him, but my boyfriend thinks she's simply an attack dog.
Is Obama a marionette for Congress?

I would advise anyone who wishes to know what motivates Presdient Obama to read his books "Dreams From My father", The Audacity of Hope" and Change We Can Believe. I have not Change We Can Believe In but I have read the others. They are enlightening. President Obama is no one's puppet. Sure he is going to make some compromises but he is acting from his conscious on all his proposals and decisions.
Obama is the genuine article.

Sadly Obama didn't write "Dreams From My Father," -- Ayers did. Thus, I can't believe in what is written, considering Ayers' past.

Of course! It ought to be known by now that there is nothing any US president can do that is not supported by the US government. If it appears that Obama's ideas are being implemented, then it is only because such was sought after!

He's a puppet. Every single president over the course of the past 40 years or so has been a puppet for the big oil companies, the rich and the powerful. They don't give a dayum about any of the lower to middle class folks.

I personally think that all politicians are puppets acting for others needs. I cannot come up with any examples of leaders that were free thinkers. I think once you get to that position of power you are at the mercy of all the shoulders you stepped on to make it to the top.
