Is belief in Karma still relevant in this modern technological world?

That is, what goes aroung stays around. Whatever one sows, he reaps. Whatever we do comes back to us whether good or bad. I am wondering if this really have an effect on people's lives aside from just an empty talk. People do whatever they do, not thinking of the consequences. Do people really think of the consequences of their actions? Any thoughts?

I think Karma is very relevant in this world. People do seem to be less understanding of consequences but not always. I live by karma in many ways. In fact, my husband often asks me what I did today to fill my karma bank. I have seen some interesting things happen to people and I can't help but think they deserved it for things I know they did in there past.

That's good to hear. Yes, even nature teaches us that what we plant will grow. A corn planted will grow as a corn and we reap it as a corn. No other possibilities. It is also true in our actions, doing something is like planting seeds. People may call it differently or maybe express the facts in other ways, but it remains that what we do comes back to us. Have a nice day.

You raise a good point about nature. Sometimes I think we need to look more at how nature works to learn better ways to live ourselves. It is such an amazing thing to see nature in motion and it can be compared to our lives in so many ways. It can be called many things and in different cultures I am sure it is. I love when people live by such a great philosophy. They are usually really nice people to be around and easy to gain my trust.

I like to be around them too. More often than not, they are most likely to be trusted for they value their actions. They don't want to be hurt so they try their best not to hurt other people. In essence, this is also what the Golden Rule says. Thanks.

We are bound with karma the moment we are conceived. all karmas have to be experienced on earth, and nowhere else. Karma is nothing but our actions/deeds during the course of life. some we remember or realise and take corrective actions. whether one believes in karma or not, or his/her faith rejects such thinking, Karma is always at work without even his knowledge. People generally are not aware of who they are. they simply move from one stage to the next without realising anything. as you said it rightly, whatever one sows, he reaps. good or bad.

I remember hearing many years ago that whatever words we say are not really lost. The measurable frequency as soon as it leaves our mouth is much higher because of its loudness then it gets smaller and smaller but it can not be lost, it stays around and soon we will experience it's effects. For whatever it's worth, it is a food for thought. Cheers.
