It is advantageous for readers than non-readers. because, they are able to relate into the day-to-day happenings and are updated in every details what the world is undergoing. It will make a reader richer in the sense that he is always in-tuned in every activity that he came across while he is reading. He has the ability to understand what he is reading and grasping ideas as he read between the lines. To the non-readers, it is very hard to understand what he saw in the billboards, documents that he would be needing and most likely failed in any examination that he is taking. In most cases, children are very lazy to read books, materials at home. especially when examinations are yet far to come. They only read when they are forced to do so because it is required for them on their homeworks. Their performance in school are poor because they hardly understand instructions. They have a hard time digesting what is the meaning of what they reading because of lack of comprehension. To be able to comprehend easily is to read regularly to sharpen the ability of understanding while reading. It could hasten the ability to read fast and understand while reading. So, it is important to read and read for you to be richer in vocabulary and to live the world fully.

Ha ha your discussion brought a smile on my face. We cant force non readers to read...One of my husband's friend keeps on forcing his wife to read. She has never read any book other than which was required for her syllabus (she doesnt even read newspapers)!!! Recently he took a book from me and asked her to read, she hasnt gone to the third page and it is already boring for her!! On the opposite end, if I were given a book, I would sit and finish it and then do rest of my job, provided the book is a pageturner...people have diffrent choices...i am sure all knows about the importance of reading, but to make it a habbit or practice is upto them...
