I don't see why the duel core is needed for a lap top unless you plan on using a lot of the system at once. Knocking the unnecessary features out and have it custom made may save you the money on it.Order online from a real dealer not just resales. It sure seems expensive.I can get a 4 gig with duel core for less than 600 fully loaded. Check around before you buy,PC magazine rates Acer at # 1 in cost, dependability,Not over heating with great fan systems, life span, and convenience of having what suits your needs. This is all,I can say about the Laptop, as I to am checking them out,In hopes Santa will remember I am still a kid.
Take it or leave it,its all I can tell ya!

Hi if you want to buy a laptop you should buy a cheap one like this:
1.CPU: Daul-Core (if you don't use Mac OS you can buy a AMD, but I like Intel)
2.Memory: 2G (It can use Windows 7 x64)
3.Hard disk: about 250Gb or 320Gb, if you need more you can buy a 500Gb one.(I only know Mac book have one has a capacity of 500Gb)
There are some advice for you:
1. IBM Thinkpad (Lenovo) (it's expensive but it is very hard to broken it)
2. Lenovo Ideapad or others.
3. hp (I haven't use hp before)
You can find some laptop cheap in the store, good luck to you~!

have you seen compaq.
you will get dual core at around Rs . 21000 .
but if you want a real quality then i recommend DELL .
quadra core processor .
3 gb ram.
320 hD.
FOR Rs 32000.
now this is the best configuration.
but if you take dual core which is a less in price and process speed but fast enough.
and 2 gb ram . say 240 hd.
it will come down to around Rs 25000.
so the diff is only 4000.
i say go for dell.
