To everyone residing in the Philippines, how were you affected by typhoon Ondoy? As for me, I experience flood for the first time in 46 years. We've been living in this place in Mandaluyong and we never experiences flood. Those residing here for many years, at least 15 years, said that this is the first time that our place has been flooded. The flood on the streets was waist deep and inside our house it was almost up to my knee, I'm 5 feet tall. Now were okay except for putting our house in order again. No more flood on the streets. We are more blessed than those who are in other areas that are still flooded despite no rains for at least 3 days now.
Another typhoon is now in the Philippine area of responsibility and PAGASA, the weather bureau in the Philippines, forecasted this to be a super typhoon. I do hope that the forecast is wrong. I pity those who are still in flooded areas.

I reside here in sampaloc, my friend. Were experience flood too but not like any other areas like pasig, marikina, rizal and others...Were lucky because our place is so high enough and floods will not be a problem.
We hope that no other like ondoy. Because if that happen. Perhaps our place will reach out by flood...Have a nice day!

Actually, our place was not affected with the Ondoy typhoon. I'm very thankful that there was no flood in the streets because we live in the high part of Manila. My boyfriend who also live in Mandaluyong also experienced high floods even inside their house because they live beside the creek.

Hi, aprilten! Here in Lipa City, Batangas which was considered a plateau, I had experience a flash flood above the knee and I had been here since 25 years. Even during typhoon Milenyo, we had flood just above the ankle and it lasted only 4 hours. My husband said that he had lived in Tondo and had experienced floods but never like this which was like the place flooded was in an ocean or sea with waves and undercurrent...water rose up very fast so he wondered where water came from. With typhoon Pepeng coming at 150 kph, let us all pray that somehow along the way, it will be broken and leave our country at once so that those communities and families still in flood will have rest from fear and be able to move on.

Praise be to God because He had answered our prayers! I will continue to pray for our country's recovery and that all the other typhoons would be just ITCZ so that rehabilitation can be completed...thanks! ;P

Thank God and lucky for us our place is high here in Paranaque. The flood is just ankle deep high but there are other areas here that went too deep. It really happened so fast just a matter of few hours and the areas are so flooded. The rain just keeps on pouring. The Philippines has not yet recovered from the Ondoy typhoon and here comes again another one and a super typhoon for that matter. We just hope and pray it will not struck that hard and just cause a little damage.

Fortunately our area wasn't as affected by the floods as the other places in the country. I also wasn't at home during the height of the storm. Instead I was stranded in school. Good thing we were allowed to stay overnight, and that food, though scarce, was still available. While I feel lucky that we weren't devastated by the typhoon, I could not help but feel guilty for some reason. Let's just continue to pray and hope that things go back to normal, no matter how hard, as soon as possible.

Hello Aprilten,
Well, despite of what yu had experienced, you are still lucky than the other people that lost of their homes, stuff and worst, their loved ones.I have read from one of the responders in a similar topic that the typhoon won't hit us and it will hit taiwan, but if that is not true then we all have to be prepared. damn i should be watching the news

I agree that what we experience is nothing compared to those who lost more than their material belongings. And I am very thankful for that. Pepeng is now in Bicol and it is now causing disaster there. President GMA declared the whole country under the state of calamity. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I am here in Cebu right now although we are not that affected with the typhoon Ondoy but I am really worried about some of my relatives living in Luzon. Luckily for us here in Cebu we only experience strong winds and also a bit of rainfalls.
Flooding in Luzon is the worse flooding I have ever witnessed I cannot imagine how does a 6 hour rain in Luzon areas create such a devastating effect it's really unbelievable. Many people lost their love one's back there It is really sad children lost their homes.
I am really hoping that our government will act upon this type of situation. The very important thing they can do and gave to this people is food and shelter also medicine.
I am also confident that Filipinos can rise and start again and we will not abandoned by God for God is always be with us.

Super typhoon is coming it is really advisable for people living in the shorelines to evacuate as soon as possible because the typhoon pepeng has a very powerful wind and it can generate big waves around the shorelines. Preparation is essential is facing this kind of calamity.
We must pray and hope that the typhoon Pepeng will not be able to hit Luzon or we are hopeful that it's capacity of destruction may decrease to further lessen the amount of damage.

Yes, the last typhoon really did cause terrible devastation. Places that didn't see a flood before were flooded. This is sad but at the same time it is also a wake up call. It should drive us to look after our environment better. Unabated deforestation and improper wage disposal are main culprits. There are no more trees to hold the flood waters, and most of our waterways are clogged. Too much garbage are thrown into canals and esteros, even Manila bay is littered with tons of garbage.
It's never too late to make some changes in our people's lifestyles. Meanwhile each of us should exert a little effort to help alleviate the sufferings of our fellow men in whatever way we can afford.
Happy mylottting and brace yourself for the coming typhoon. Cheers.

The effect of Typhoon Ondoy is not so much here in Iloilo. We just experienced rainfalls and and strong winds. The electricity went out for about two days. Fortunately, there was no flood here but during that time.. we were so anxious because it was announced that the level of water in the river is going up fast. We sympathize to those of our Kababayans who were devastated by flash flood, our hearts reach out to them. We also know how it really feels because we, ourselves, experienced great typhoon/flood last year during Typhoon Frank.Well, God bless us, hopefully no calamity that great will happen again in our country. Our donations in cash and in kind are already sent to the victims.

I received an update from my sister who's working in PAG-ASA. She informed me that typhoon PEPENG entered Philippines' area of responsibility and it is noted as SUPER TYPHOON compared to ONDOY which is just a tropical storm. It's really scary! =(

The weather is not like what it's used to be, it's happening all over the world. And the news is scary, what is happening to Mother Earth ?
We need to pray that we get through this coming typhoon and that preparations will be made to ensure the protection and lives of those places that will be hit. We need to plan more for our country to be ready for any outcome, typhoon or any other calamity that is sure to come in the following months.

The typhoon was horrible, in our place, it lasted for I think a day, non-stop raining. Thank God there hadn't been flood at our house, I really pity those people affected by Ondoy. The next flood is supposed to come today(Thurs.) good thing it's not here yet.
