I understand you. Just watch your health as you may develop ulcer later when you keep that habit of yours.

I usually have two meals, breakfast and usually lunch, though I've been a bit late with lunch at times. Evenings I may have a little something, nothing bigger than a sandwich unless I missed lunch entirely that day.
And then there are days I don't eat anything. I just make sure I have water. I know I should have water even when I do eat, but I hardly think of it unless when I'm fasting.

I am overweight anyway so I'm still eating too much for my activity level (you can only expend so many calories typing at a keyboard!) And by all means if you get migraines when you don't eat I will definitely not advise you to follow my example.
I know when certain people eat certain foods (everyone is different) that gives them migraines, so I did a quick search. Not eating regularly can cause blood sugar levels to drop, and migraines can be a symptom of that. Eating disorders are also mentioned, but I couldn't find what kind of disorders.
Of course only a doctor is qualified to determine what is best for each person.

You can do that? Wow that's amazing! I don't think I can end a day without a meal else I will have a migraine attack. Though it is proven that you can opt not to have a solid intake procided you are drinking water but I do not dare to try it.

Hello joy-evaldez. Like you, we have three meals a day in my family. We won't skip one. I think that it is very important for us to have regular meals since we are into the habit of it. If I miss one, then I will eat a lot more when it is time for the next meal. So this is not good for the health.

I am eating three square meals a day and a regular rice eater. Seldom do I eat breakfast without rice because it's not the same as being full in the truest sense LOL. Anyways, if I skip just one meal I get headaches and hunger panic attacks. Then I eat snacks midmorning and mid afternoon but small portions only. I seldom eat snacks after supper because I can't sleep.

it sounds like you already know the answer to this, but no, its less effective eating only 3 times a day. eating smaller meals more often will increase the metabolism. i know its difficult. ive always been a 3 meal a day guy and just in the last few months got used to eating 5-6 times a day......it does take practice to get used to. but to answer your question, extra exercise will not replace the benefits of eating smaller meals more often.

Maybe I have to try also the smaller but frequent meals a day. If it does improves my metabolism, then it will benefit me the most as I noticed recently I am gaining some weight.

I eat a banana every morning and then nothing until dinner. I eat a healthy home cooked dinner every night including a salad (spinach) some protein and a starch. If I snack at night it is always fruit..I live in florida and have a mango tree and when they are in season I eat several a day. I have a pink grapefruit tree which are coming in season now, (my tree is loaded,,can't wait) and I have two different orange trees. We grow key limes too but usually give most away. I do make deserts that call for them on occasion. I have been doing the one meal a day thing most of my life and have maintained the same weight within 5lbs since I was a teenager..a very looooooooooooooong time ago..I guess everyone is different, but I could never take the time to eat 3-5 times a day even though it is probably much smarter than my way...Good Eating!!!

Your eating habits fascinates me! I wish I can be like you. Even you are not eating 3-5x a day, your food intake may be a lot more nutritional than most of us. I also love to eat fruits like mango, watermelon and guava but I usually ate those as dessert which I read somewhere is not advisable. From an article about eating fruits I read somewhere, they say that fruits must be take in first at least 30mins before you can take your regular meal. It is for the body to maximize the abosorption of fruits' nutrients. Thus, I am slowly trying to change my practice of eating fruits after meal.
Thanks for the response!

Yes, I am a rice eater too. I usually have the rice when I am eating Dinner. Its a nice compliment to the other foods and helps to fill me up. I sometimes make the rice into a soup for lunch. I try to have the 3 main meals everyday but sometimes I get really busy and have to skip breakfast and then have a snack before lunch.

I may say so. In time, you will develop an ulcer and that is very hard to have I tell you. If you can, try to eat on a regular basis so that your tummy will not develop too much gastric juices that causes ulcer. You may eat also while surfing the net right :)

I usually eat only one meal each days in weekday which is lunch or dinner. I don't like to eat breakfast because I don't like my breakfast. It is terrible. I only eat three meals a day when I am in my home country which now I am not. My mom will do my meal for me and I love it.

I have a very fast metabolism so I can't just have three spread out meals in a day. Instead, I'm more of a grazer and eat a little bit all day long.
