No. That's against our religion. And besides, wearing one is a sign of disrespect, no matter what religion it maybe, I think. When meeting with respected people, we always dress ourselves wery well. How much more if those we are meeting are those we praise and worship.

no i don't. i have never been to a church wearing shorts. i think it would be disgraceful to wear shorts and go to a temple, we should respect our sayings and culture. i would never ever do that because it would not look good to go to a temple or a church wearing shorts.

Hello daliaj this is checkmail and often do go to temple but not in shorts in formal clothes.Yeah in childhood i used to go in shorts in temples but now as grown up i have to out on formal or traditional wear to go to temple.Yes its allowed in our country too but just there is much more discipline and shyness among us.

In our country specially we are Jehovah's witnesses we don't allow short wearing when we attend the meeting. And when we go in school we don't wear short also.

I don't think shorts is suitable to go for church or school. My mother always remind us about the dress coding when attending a mass or going to church. There are some consider it okay but I must say that it is not the usual church dress code. I always wear dress to look good and clean.

I wouldn't go to church in shorts. I do go to school and to work in shorts or in jeans, it's just not that formal here. I don't think though, that church is supposed to be about what you wear. So long as you are neatly and cleanly dressed (or as close as you can), why should it matter - it's supposed to be about what's inside you, not your outward appearance.

It depends on the church you attend. People do not wear shorts in the church I attend. Women are not allowed to wear pants.

No, I don't go to church wearing short. It's not appropriate. You are visiting the house of God, you should show respect by dressing well. It may not be the best clothes but at least it is decent enough.

hi daliaj contrary to what you may have heard we Americans do not wear shorts to church or temple or in some fancy restaurants either. but especially not in Church. A lot of crap is told about us that' simply is not true. I would never ever go to church wearing shorts, thats not done here at all. no way,'no how.

When I was little we went to a catholic church. We wore dresses and had to have a special head peice like lacy for women and girls. In 1991 I started going to a non denominational church. 995 of the people there dressed up for the morning service and casual for the 6pm service. And then I have been to other churches that do not care what your wearing, everyone was welcome. Of course you can`t go to any church looking lie a hooker. But we had homeless people that a bus would pick up for services. They were welcome with whatever that they had to wear.

I myself has not gone to church wearing shorts, but have seen other people wearing shorts. The one thing about my church is we don't judge people by what they wear to church. We just thank God they have come to church. We pray that once they get right with God they will desire to not wear shorts but to dress to show respect to God. Now for school I have worn shorts many times when I was in school. It is very appropriate to wear them to school

I a new member to mylot. I do not wear shorts to church at all, there are people in the United States that do. I think that is disrespectful. I have seen people who work in the church wear shorts to work, but then the pastor's wife gave a dress code for the employees at the church. I can't believe people who dress so nice for a regular job all week and when they come to church, they have shorts or jeans. I never wore shorts to school or college, it was always jeans or the specific dress code they gave.

I have been to church wearing dressy shorts, but i certainly didn't feel comfortable because many people thought it strange, even disrespectful. Wearing shorts to school is fine in my country, they are part of the summer uniform, as for wearing shorts in public, most truck drivers wear nothing but shorts and a singlet.

No, I don't go to church wearing shorts. We must wear clothes appropriate for a venue or occasion. But there are universities here which don't require uniforms and thus students wear civilaina clothes. And some students male or female wear shorts to school. Short shorts are not allowed but anyways some still wear them but most teachers don't allow entry of students. I wore walking shorts to the office once like knee high shorts during Fridays but the boss said otherwise. So, I wore a mini skirt instead because it was really hot and humid. Well, I just got a stare because the policy was no shorts but it did not say so about mini skirts. LOL

no, I do not do it as the church is the venues for praying their are many times when one could wear shorts or other sexy outfits. A a sign of respect and reverence to God by praying it is good to wear decent clothes so that the attention of the people is on the word of God rather than on your clothes.

We have to respect places of worship. If you are kids, you are pardoned. But adults should be more respectful. Wear clothing that cover most parts of your body and only allow perhaps the arms and feet to be seen. Shorts are definitely out for church going!

wearing shorts in church was a no-no in the past. even ladies wearing pants are being frowned by people and the church. lately, however, this has changed. i can see people (men and women) wearing shorts ... not the short shorts but the ones hanging up to the knee or lower. they are not the shorts that are tight-fitting, too. they look decent enough. i know of one school in our country where students are free to wear shorts... but not the very short ones.

No way would I wear shorts to church! I have worn pants, but felt very out of place although some other women do wear pants to church. We have had visitors come in with shorts and revealing clothes. You have to assume that those who do that just either don't know or don't care.
