Earh Quake in Padang and the rest of West Sumatera

I feel so sad about what's happening in the world today. Hundreds of lives were taken and millions of properties were destroyed during the typhoon that hit the Philippines. Tsunami in Samoa...And now the earthquake in Indonesia. It claimed thousands of lives. I don't know exactly why it happened in a week consecutively. As if it was planned. As if it was written that way. I can't imagine another earthquake coming your way. I wish all people to be safe and everything will be back to normal.

for additional info, the follow earth quake happens on jambi and mentawai island at october 1st. Thanks to god my island doesn't have a volcano, my place on west borneo or called west kalimantan. our disaster are flood and burning land and forest smoke that can caused hard to breath and traffic incident.

I am deeply saddened by the earthquake that hit our country. I can feel what people felt in Padang, because I never feel what they feel, when the earthquake happened in Yogyakarta. My in-laws came from the field, there are relatives who are still there in Padang. until now we have not been able to contact them. I hope they'll be fine. I hope that they could not be contacted because their phone battery in a discharged state.

The largest earthquake this time was in Padang, because to reach 7.6 SR. Connecting road between the fields and the other path is interrupted, telecommunications equipment damaged, buildings destroyed and need help from all nations. Many victims in this incident, and the possibility of aftershocks are still there. Hopefully it will not happen again, because if it keeps happening Indonesia will sink. because the earthquake is the ground shifting, and not because of the occurrence of active mountain. Although we are in other places, it still could happen. We must pray and ask for the safety of God, because of all this is the will of god.

Hi there friend, I have an aunt in Padang , and you know what..disaster was caused the damage so much, now my aunt lost her home, Thanks God all my family there can be saved. I hope yours too. The last news i heard that evacuation process is still running at the place where effect the earthquake.

Hi Lordcaocao, Feel to sad when I heard about this earthquake disaster strike my country again. Padang is at North Sumatera and my hometown is at North Sumatera (Medan). The earthquake happened in Padang is so scary and shaking.Pretty strong earthquake,many buidings are collapsed and alot of people are injured due to this disaster. I am very concerned about my families in Medan. I just talked to my brother this afternoon.Actually,Medan did have a minor earthquake yesterday afternoon around 5pm,but it is too minor until my family members did not feel it at all. Only when you are at high building,then you can feel the shaking. I do hope this disaster will over soon.No more victims and everything will back to normal. For those families' victims at Padang,be strong to face this disaster !!Life still have to go on.

I feel sorry to victims of earthquake in western of sumatra and samoa. I already seen on television and I feel sad to see the impact

ya, i watch from television and iam shocked. again and again. several month ago, earthquake in most of part in java island and trauma still in our people and now it`s again.

hi, Anyone know what is the current condition of road from Padang to Bukit Tinggi? It is safe? How the Padang people condition right now? My family plan to visit relative in Bukit Tinggi (via Padang) next month. Our flight tentatively will be landing at Padang Airport and we will take a cap to Bukit Tinggi.
