Hi friends, bottled water, is it safer to use? I am talking about the water that is packaged in the plastic bottles (use and throw bottles). How may of you are regularly using the packaged water in the plastic bottles? In our country, we buy the packaged water, and after drinking the water, we keep the plastic bottles (use and throw bottles) for refilling the waters for the further use.. how many of you are doing the same? It is not safer to reuse those bottles, because, even in the bottles it is written that "crush the bottle after use". But, in our country, most of us are thinking that we need to crush it after the usage of the bottle (that is, we will use the bottle until the bottle gets crushed itself)

arunmails it might be better bottled water, but since I have to watch my spending as I live on a very tight budget I just drink tap water and save my money for more important things like phone bills and internet bills' and clothing costs.

I prefer the water filtrations that either go over the faucet or is used in a pitcher. Bottled water stopped tasting good to me a few year back. Then the news said that some bottle water companies used up to 70% tap water. The Brita pitcher water is some of the best water I've tasted n a long time. The fact that sink water is recycled sewage water is not very pleasing which is why I stopped drinking fountain water.

I"ll make this short and sweet, FLORIDA water sux, so you really dont have a choice, its filtered swamp water packed with chlorine. we do BRITA OR BOTTLED. When using bottled i save the bottles and take them to re-cycling where they get melted down and used again for other products.

I drink bottled water because I don't have nay other choice as the tap water here is not safe but I would prefer to be drinking clean tap water if I could because bottled water is not the healthiest either.

Hi, We buy bottled water here, and we re use the bottles, for various things. They come in very handy, we refill them with tap water, when going out walking, I don't see any harm in that, I have quite a collection of them

It doesn't matter to me either way. I would prefer not to buy bottled water, when we already pay for water. However our water is not the best tasting, and my husband will only drink bottled water. So I buy it, but not like in large amounts.

At home we use filtered water and rarely use bottled water. However when we are travelling or are out to enjoy holidays bottled water of some trusted brands is our preferece. Crushing the bottle is necessary so that they are not resued by any fake compaines to recirculate the bottles back in the market by filling tap water.

I do use bottled water. A I have well water and it makes me sick to my stomach. So to get water I either drink the well water that makes me sick. Or I buy bottle water to drink. I buy bottled water...it is safer for me and my family to drink at this time.

Hi Arun, I don’t think that bottled water is safe to use. I am not using that water except in emergency. I cam carrying a water bottle with me always when I am going out which is boiled water from home. Regarding reusing the bottles, the bottles are low quality and does not qualified to re-use it that is why they are asking to crush it. But many are just throwing away the bottle without crushing and which is collected by some people and will be again coming in shops filled with water. It will definitely damage our health.

I prefer to drink any water I can get. I do not really think tht by drinking only bottled water one can be safe. They have put so many minerals and such in the water that the water is more harmful that helpful.. bourne

Depends on where you live. Our water is some of the best in the county. All you need is a simple water filter that they sell in stores. Bottled water also has a plastic taste when it's old. I usually just drink tap water. Why pay for something that is basically free?

Sometimes I prefer bottled water when I have trips or in a street just hanging around. Honestly, if the bottled is being empty, I don't keep it.I just throw it directly to the garbage.

Hi, I used the plastic bottles to load the water agina once in a while after I used out of it, but my friend recommended that I throw it out, don't use again. I often saw the plastic bottle arould the floor, and some people picked it up and sell it to the recycle bin storage, I think it will be reproduced.

Here in the U. S. I never use bottled water since it is not better than tap water and often is tap water but with a high price. Also, it sometimes is a lot less healthy than tap water. Then of course there is all those bottles going into landfills for no reason.

I don't like to use bottled water at all. First of all, it costs more to drink than the water that comes into our house through the tap. Secondly, it is not very good for the environment with all of the waste that it creates. I, have a filtering pitcher through which I will filter my water and then I put it in one of my own bottles or cups and drink it from there. This, I feel is better for the environment and for myself. Additionally, by drinking my water this way, it saves me hundreds of dollars per year.

tap water is not really safe for drinking so we buy purified water using our reusable plastic containers.plastic bottles from bottled water is a major problem, because in some places, water is not very clean and people resort to buying bottled water and mostly of these bottles are not recycled but dumped and burned.

I drink both. I prefer bottled water, you can buy it in bulk, say six 2 litre bottles for less than £2 now.

Bottled waters are not safe but in some places even that kind of water is not available. Drinking those waters cannot not be stopped. Since in case of any urgent you have to do the same. But this habit of drinking packaged drinking water can be minimized only by creating the awareness about the after effects of it.
